T-Mobile, the third largest mobile operator in the United States, has a pretty surprising deal ahead of the iPhone 6s release date and pre-order sales. It gives users an unlocked iPhone 6 hundreds of times off the entire purchase price when they sign up for the T-Mobile JUMP On-Demand service.
T-Mobile announces new iPhone 6s deal in a post blog Just a day after Apple announced its new smartphone lineup. Called the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, each device features upgraded rear-facing cameras, tougher materials, and Apple’s new 3D Touch technology for interacting with iPhone and iPad apps.
T-Mobile’s iPhone 6s deal is pretty good, but a little hard to follow for anyone who doesn’t already have its service. The carrier says anyone who wakes up at midnight this Saturday to pre-order an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus will get big savings. Specifically, it will not charge any T-Mobile JUMP On Demand members for pre-ordering the iPhone 6s. It will also only add $20 to their monthly bills for the next 18 months. After 18 months, users are free to return the device and choose another phone or pay $164 to keep it.
If you add up those 18 months, users are getting an entry-level iPhone 6 for $360. Apple will sell the iPhone 6 when it goes on sale this Saturday for $649 without a contract, or $32.45 a month. Of course, T-Mobile is banking on the Apple iPhone 6s and Apple iPhone 6s Plus, not wanting to pay $164 to have and keep the phone within two years. Users who choose to keep their device still get a pretty cool iPhone 6s deal. The iPhone 6s storage fee and monthly payments total $524 only. It turns out to be a pretty great deal on the iPhone 6s Plus, with a monthly payment of $24 and a final payment of $164, with T-Mobile users looking at $596 for one of the best smartphones of all time.
Theoretically, they won’t, as die-hard iPhone lovers will want to upgrade to the latest models in two years. That makes sense, T-Mobile JUMP is made specifically for users who want the latest smartphones.
To be clear, T-Mobile hasn’t been completely outspoken about how everything is in this iPhone 6s deal. Joining the T-Mobile Jump On-Demand program requires an additional $10 per month fee. The service includes insurance but is separate from T-Mobile’s basic calling, texting and data charges. If you’re already a T-Mobile JUMP On-Demand member or have switched from a more expensive mobile carrier, it’s still a good deal. T-Mobile allows users to forgo JUMP On-Demand and keep their smartphones instead of swapping them.
T-Mobile is offering more than just this iPhone 6s deal for shoppers. The company is also preparing other incentives. Called the T-Mobile Lifetime Coverage Guarantee, T-Mobile will refund any fees associated with the first month of service if a user decides that the carrier’s service is not as good as they need it to be. T-Mobile says it will allow JUMP users who are dissatisfied with their coverage to continue making interest-free payments on their smartphones if they leave the network using its Lifetime Coverage Guarantee. In theory, users will never switch, as T-Mobile offers more LTE coverage nationwide and uses what it calls Band 12 mobile spectrum. For T-Mobile, more spectrum and coverage means a network that can better compete against Verizon and AT&T. It surpassed Sprint in terms of subscriber count.
T-Mobiles Web site It’s already getting information for users who want to take advantage of the iPhone 6s deal or order an unlocked device for carrier use. Pre-registration before the iPhone 6 release date requires name, email address, and information about whether you’re a T-Mobile subscriber. T-Mobile will automatically send an email with purchase information as soon as iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus pre-orders begin.
