When the iPhone 14s launched in early September, it was the Pro models that traditionally stole the show from the more popular classic versions. The two most expensive iPhones, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, this yeara new notchless design, now replaced by a pill.
Not only has Apple changed the look of its devices, the software part has also been optimized to take advantage of this new pill. Indeed, the American giant introduced Dynamic Island. turns the pill into a dynamic island that can expand or shrink depending on the apps used.
iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will also qualify for Dynamic Island next year
While only the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will be able to take advantage of Dynamic Island in 2022, that could change as early as next year. According to well-known analyst Ross Young, whose information has thus far been proven correct, all iPhone 15 models will receive the new design with the pill next yearand hence Dynamic Island functionality.
However, despite this homogenization of the look of all its smartphones, Apple will always reserve its best displays for the Pro models. Ross Young adds in his tweet: iPhone 15 and 15 Pro should always be equipped with an LTPS panel with a refresh rate limited to 60 Hz. In 2023, while all its rivals on Android have been adopting a 120Hz display for years.

According to Ross Young, Apple would decide not to use a 120 Hz display on the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus due to supply issues. Chinese giant BOE would not be able to supply LTPO panels to Apple before 2024and the latter should therefore only rely on LG and Samsung for their Pro models.
Yes, Dynamic Island is expected on standard models in 15. Still don’t expect 120Hz/LTPO on standard models as the supply chain can’t support it.
