iPhone 6s Release Date Start of Shipments

If you’ve pre-ordered an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus from Apple, you’ll be happy to know that iPhone 6s release date shipments have begun as the iPhone 6s release date in the United States approaches.

Last week, Apple took the stage in San Francisco and announced several new products, including an iPad Pro, Apple Pencil, iPad mini 4 and two new iPhones dubbed iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. The new iPhones will take over flagship duties from the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

At the event, Apple reviewed key iPhone 6s features including improved displays, improved cameras, faster processors and more. As usual, Apple wasted no time and both devices went up for pre-order on Friday following the announcement.

As we approach next week’s iPhone 6s release date, we’re starting to see iPhone 6s pre-orders take off. Apple started charging iPhone 6s pre-orders yesterday, and iPhone 6s shipments began today.

Apple has moved many iPhone 6 pre-orders to the “Prepare to Ship” phase of the iPhone 6s release. Apple has now started to process iPhone 6 pre-orders, with various implications for those who order via the Apple Store app or website:

We are currently preparing your order and as a result we are unable to change your order at this point. If items are shipping directly to you, we will send you a Shipping Notification email. If items are shipping to an Apple Store, we’ll send you a Pickup Notification email when they’re ready for pickup.

iPhone 6s orders that are in the processing stage are no longer eligible for cancellation or returns. “After items are shipped, you can return them from the Orders page,” Apple says. Those wishing to request a refund right now should call Apple Online Store Customer Service at 1-800-MY-APPLE.

iPhone 6s orders haven’t started shipping yet. The company usually starts shipping iPhone pre-orders a few days before the release date. Unlike Android pre-orders, iPhone pre-orders usually don’t arrive before the scheduled release date.

To check the status of an iPhone 6s order, Apple customers will want to look at the order number in the upper-right corner of the email Apple sends when the order is placed. Apple customers can also sign in to the Apple Store online or via the iOS app to track a pending shipment.

Apple isn’t the only one taking pre-orders for the iPhone 6s before the device’s September 25 release date. Operator partners like AT&T and Verizon and retail partners like Target are currently taking early orders for new flagship models.

Customers who purchased the iPhone 6s through a company other than Apple will also want to keep track of changes in their order. We should see all iPhone 6 orders make progress as Apple prepares to ship devices around the world.
