iOS 9 Jailbreak Mac Release Coming Soon 1

iOS 9 Jailbreak Mac Release Coming Soon

An iOS 9 jailbreak was released last week, but if you’re looking for a Mac version of the jailbreak tool, it’s coming soon.

Pangu jailbreak developer team has greatly appreciated the iOS 9 jailbreak. It was considered a surprise release as no one expected a jailbreak to arrive before iOS 9.1, but still the jailbreak community was quite happy to receive a jailbreak for the newest version of iOS.

However, although these new jailbreak versions are coming to iOS 9, not all of them are perfect. For starters, since the jailbreak tool is only compatible with Windows, users can currently jailbreak their devices only on Windows machines. That means Mac users are out of luck for now.

There are other options to run Windows on your Mac, such as using Parallels or other virtual software. However, these utilities are often costly and not worth it if you are only going to jailbreak your iPhone or iPad.

The best thing you can do is find a friend or family member with a Windows computer so you can jailbreak easily.

The good news, though, is that Pangu is working on a Mac version of the jailbreak tool, as the dev team lists it as “coming soon.” on its website.

Unfortunately Pangu hasn’t listed a specific release date or even a release window for the Mac version, but we hope that happens soon. But if the date is any indication, it may take several months before we see it.

Of course, we’re not surprised that a Mac version of the iOS 9 jailbreak tool isn’t available, because whenever a new jailbreak is released, it’s usually Windows for the first few months before the Mac version is released. We’re not entirely sure why this is, but it’s probably because the developers don’t have a Mac to develop the tool, or it might be harder to build a Mac version than Windows.

Whatever the case, a Mac version is usually released at some point after the jailbreak release, so we’re not at all surprised to see Pangu working on a Mac version of the iOS 9 jailbreak. However, considering that the tool is for an Apple product and Macs are also Apple products, it’s a bit strange that OS X was discontinued when a new jailbreak was released.

iOS-8-Cydia

In any case, we’re particularly pleased that the focus is on at least one Mac version while OS X El Capitan is in print. It will be nice to see an iOS 9 jailbreak tool running on the latest version of OS X.

The jailbreak itself is still in its infancy. There are still some popular jailbreak tweaks that are not compatible with iOS 9, and the Cydia store is still trying to sort out the confusion, as always when a new jailbreak is released.

On a positive note, more and more jailbreak tweaks are being released now that an iOS 9 jailbreak is out and available. A handful of great tweaks have been released for users to try, and we’ve even featured a handful of them.

If you want to jailbreak iOS 9 on your iPhone or iPad, even if there are a handful of tweaks that haven’t been updated yet, now is the time to do it. iOS 9 is a great upgrade over iOS 8, and there are a few cool tweaks that bring a few iPhone 6s features to older iPhones as well as some new iPad features like Split View multitasking.
