No new jailbreak has been released for a while, but iOS 9.2 jailbreak has been rumored for a few weeks. When will we see? Here’s what we know about an iOS 9.2 jailbreak so far.
An iOS 9 jailbreak was first released in October, about a month after iOS 9 was first released to the public, making it the fastest jailbreak we’ve seen in a while, but it was quickly suppressed when Apple released iOS 9.1. a week later, patching all used vulnerabilities and killing the jailbreak in the process.
Since then, iOS 9.2 and iOS 9.2.1 have been released and we have yet to see a new jailbreak, but users still on iOS 9.0 can jailbreak using their iPhone. Pangu’s jailbreak tool.
There’s no doubt that Pangu or TaiG are working on a new jailbreak, but the mystery is what version of iOS they’re working on and specifically when they’ll release it alongside iOS 9.3.
Rumors of the iOS 9.2 jailbreak have been circulating for a while, but nothing has been officially released yet, which is a bit discouraging. However, the jailbreak community is known for its patience, so users know that jailbreak releases can take some time, even if they are nervous.
Also, many jailbreak enthusiasts still have a positive attitude and hope to see a new jailbreak pretty soon.
Here’s what we know so far about the iOS 9.2 jailbreak.
An iOS 9.2 Jailbreak Already Exists Somewhere
We’ve already seen an iOS 9.2 jailbreak mocked, and this particular instance was from an individual developer.
Also, the same developer recently released a video of a working iOS 9.2 jailbreak on his iPhone (above), and he also claims to have a working iOS 9.3 jailbreak as well as an iOS 9.2.1 jailbreak.
Based on this, a jailbreak team like Pangu or TaiG would also be expected to have a working jailbreak and release it at some point as the developer above said it won’t release the vulnerabilities.
Of course, it’s possible for mocks made by the individual developer to be fake, but it’s very difficult to fake something without getting caught in the jailbreak community.
That said, we wouldn’t be surprised if an iOS 9.2 jailbreak is already available and currently chambered in, but the big question is when the gun will be fired.
any day now
One thing we know, or at least guess based on our current jailbreak knowledge, is that we have a hard time believing that Pangu or TaiG are waiting for iOS 9.3 to be released before they can release a new jailbreak.
iOS 9.3 is probably at least a month away, so we have a hard time believing they’d wait this long to release a jailbreak that won’t be fixed so soon.
Now that iOS 9.2.1 is probably the last update based on iOS 9.2, it would make sense for Pangu or TaiG to release their iOS 9.2 jailbreak someday.
That said, it’s been a while for the dev teams to do this, and we still haven’t seen an iOS 9.2 jailbreak, which makes us wonder if they’ll wait for iOS 9.3 to come out before releasing a new jailbreak.
If an iOS 9.2.x jailbreak has not been released, it may never arrive after iOS 9.3 is released. However, a developer over at enMTW recently said that the iOS 9.2 jailbreak will be released in a few weeks.
The information was revealed in a video (above) that says a new jailbreak is expected to arrive soon, and it will likely be March when that happens. enMTW also says that the Mac version of the jailbreak tool will be available at launch; this doesn’t happen very often with the release of a new jailbreak tool.
iOS 9.2.1 Jailbreak Status
If Pangu or TaiG release an iOS 9.2 jailbreak, it may not be compatible with iOS 9.2.1, as this minor update actually included a handful of security fixes that dealt with any exploits jailbreakers might have. was using.
Plus, PP says there’s a new jailbreak Likely to happen with iOS 9.2 and not iOS 9.2.1. PP has been partnering with Pangu for a while, so they probably have some inside information about it.
However, enMTW said that iOS 9.2.1 will be jailbreakable, “you will be able to update to iOS 9.2.1” and it will be out in the next few weeks, but with a solid release date you can jailbreak your device. it hasn’t been set yet, and it’s possible that iOS 9.3 will come out by then.
New Developers
While TaiG and Pangu are currently the dominating dev teams in the jailbreak community, some new players are said to be joining the field.
By iDigitalTimes, there are some new developers considering jailbreaking it. Unfortunately, details on this are scarce, but progress has yet to be made until new developers create the jailbreak.
enMTW recently Makes fun of iOS 9.3 jailbreak working on the latest beta of the new update and even said that He will release his jailbreakbut we are not sure when that will happen.
If iOS 9.3 releases while it’s still in beta, it’s possible that Apple will go in and fix the jailbreak before the final version of iOS 9.3 is released.
That said, more developers are always a good thing and this provides more opportunities for new jailbreak releases and hopefully more competition between dev teams to release new jailbreaks, but we’ll see how it plays out over the next few months.
Beware of Fake Jailbreaks
Honestly, the jailbreak community never gives up for the few minutes a fake jailbreak is teased or released.
Recently, a rogue jailbreak developer team named Taoyi He mocked a new jailbreak, but eventually admitted it was fake and gave the message never to be fooled by fake jailbreaks and scams.
This happened a few years ago too, and while some users might fall for it, the jailbreak community as a whole does a pretty good job of weeding out fakes, so it’s really hard to fake a jailbreak and get rid of it.
