iFrogz Wireless Headphones Review: Impulse & Plugz

iFrogz wireless headphones are affordable Bluetooth headphones that connect to iPhone, Android, Mac and Windows to let you listen to music, talk and watch movies without plugging in a cable to your device.

We’ve been testing iFrogz wireless earbuds with the iPhone 6s for the past few weeks to see how they perform at home, in the garden, and on the go.

We tested the iFrogz Impulse Wireless earbuds in Rose Gold and the iFrogz EarPollution Plugz Wireless earbuds. Over the past week me and my wife have used these models to see how they perform.

this iFrogz Impulse Wireless headphones It’s $39.99 and available in Black and Rose Gold. this iFrogz Plugz Wireless headphones It’s $29.99 and is available in Silver and Blue.

A lot of wireless earbuds put the controls, battery, and microphone to one side, which can lead to a slightly heavier side. Both iFrogz Impulse and Plugz use a small controller located in the middle of the wired connection. You attach this to your shirt collar or sleeve while wearing headphones so there’s no added weight on one ear and the controls are easily accessible. The earphones are sweat-resistant, so using them while exercising is okay.

There are three buttons that let you control the volume, play it and use Siri or Google Assistant. Buttons are easy to find and work well once you understand the difference between a long press and a short press.

A short press changes the volume and a long press changes the track. A short press of the middle button pauses the music, a press of the middle button activates Siri and a long press turns the headphones on or off. This small clip is lightweight and easy to attach thanks to the magnetic closure on the back.

iFrogz manages to produce small, affordable wireless earbuds that are comfortable to wear for long periods of time. My wife’s comfort and fit are noted, and she likes the fact that the Impulse headphones block outside noise very well. These are not active noise canceling, but they can isolate you well from other noises thanks to a very good fit. Both earbuds include three sizes of eartips, and if your eartips are lost or worn, iFrogz will replace them.

We both found the iFrogz wireless sound quality good. If you like the sound you get from your iPhone EarPods, it is very close to the sound you are already listening to. The sound isn’t as rich and accurate as the more expensive competition, but sounds good for the price.

iFrogz rates the battery life at 5 hours on a charge, which is pretty close to what we observed. If you use them all day, during a break or after your second or third day at the gym, you need to recharge if you are confident in the workout plan you plan to charge.

The range of iFrogz wireless headphones is good. I can walk around our house while my iPhone is charging in my office and walk around a room with a wall in between without losing the signal from the Plugz Wireless. Signal strength is fine in my front pocket.

The Impulse Wireless range is okay, but my wife doesn’t like the music getting cut off when you carry your iPhone in your back pocket. This is an important thing to keep in mind until fashion women add real pockets to their trousers.

you can buy iFrogz wireless headphones at ZAGG along with various other Bluetooth accessories and screen protectors.
