How to Share iPhone or iPad Screen on Zoom

Zoom has released its best quarter results in company history, with strong guidance for the upcoming quarter. We’ve seen Microsoft and Google target Zoom with video calling offerings like Microsoft Teams and Google Meet. Still Zoom maintains its place with features such as rich Whiteboard screen sharing, ease of use, ability to share iPhone or iPad screen on Zoom using AirPlay on Windows and Mac.

During group video calls, the administrator can share the current screen, file, current PowerPoint slide, etc. using screen sharing. may want to show you. It makes the whole conversation hassle-free. You can also share iPhone and iPad screen directly with Zoom video calls.

This feature can be useful when you want to showcase something to Zoom participants on the iPhone or iPad screen. To fix the problem, I wanted to show my dad some options he can change on his iPhone. Share iPhone/iPad Screen on Zoom

There are two ways to mirror iPhone or iPad screen to Zoom. Use a USB cable or choose Wireless AirPlay. Follow the steps below.

Stage 1: Open the Zoom app on your Mac or Windows.

Step 2: Tap on ‘New Meeting’ to start a new Zoom call.

Stage 3: Join the meeting using computer audio to enable audio during group video calls.

Step 4: Invite attendees and tap the Share Screen option at the bottom, or use the keyboard shortcut Shift + Command + S on Mac or Shift + Ctrl + S on Windows to open the screen sharing menu.

Step 5: Go to Share Screen > Basic and select iPhone/iPad via AirPlay or iPhone/iPad via cable.

While the USB cable is reliable, switching to Wi-Fi on a slow internet connection can cause some glitches. Also, a loose or faulty cable can interrupt the screen sharing experience.

Step 6: Tap iPhone/iPad via AirPlay and Zoom app will download necessary plug-in to enable AirPlay service.

Step 7: Tap the Share button below and return to your iPhone/iPad.

Step 8: Swipe down from the top right corner to open Control Center on your iPhone/iPad.

Step 9: Tap and hold the Screen Mirroring option from Control Center.

Step 10: ‘Zoom – Notebook name’ will be displayed. Tap on it and it will start live iPhone screen streaming to Zoom app on Mac/Windows.

You can follow the same steps on iPad to share the iPad screen with Zoom participants.

Here’s how we use it among team members. Most of the time, I share iPhone/iPad screen using AirPlay and show a private picture or something weird I found. Much better than screen recording and then sharing via a project management app. The function also makes the whole meeting smooth and hassle-free.

Screen Sharing Annotations

The iPhone/iPad screen sharing feature lets you do more. You can annotate the iPhone/iPad screen for better presentations. Tap Add Annotation from the toolbar above to open the edit menu. It becomes easier for a presenter to showcase things.

To draw: The drawing menu consists of a number of shapes you can choose from. You can use the arrow, circle, rectangle and other tools in the drawing menu to annotate the iPhone screen.

Text and Format Menu: Zoom allows you to add text to the iPhone/iPad screen. You can also change the text color, size, add a bold or italic effect.

Apart from that, you can use the undo, redo and clear options to make the changes. The save button is a must for everyone. After brainstorming with the team members, you should save the current screen on PC. You can press the save button to save the current screen as an image to the Zoom folder on the device.

Fortunately, Zoom also offers a few security options. During a live video call, you can tap the Security button at the top of the screen sharing window and disable Annotate Shared Content from the Allow Participants menu. It will prevent other members from making a statement on the screen shared on Zoom.
