The name of Apple’s latest creation – iPad professional – It conveys the idea that it has a higher purpose in mind. There are plenty of unprofessional reasons to want the new tablet, but like a much larger screen with a powerful speaker set; While both features make an attractive purchase for artists and business people, they’re also great for playing some of the best games on iOS.
There are a few things to consider in a list like this one – first of all, despite the iPad Pro’s larger size and bringing something new to Apple’s mobile device lineup, iOS is hardly a new system. Likewise, a few of these games are brand new, and fewer still made specifically for the iPad Pro. Still, the different form factor means some games are better than others. Some apps haven’t been updated to take advantage of the new screen, so any use of the keyboard causes half or more of the screen to be turned off, and for some updated apps the larger screen size doesn’t do much to add. game.

Monument Valley was rated as one of the best iPad apps of the past year and definitely the best iPad game. If you own an iPad Pro that has never played this game before, how about a feast? The game is largely an exploration game that confuses the steps you need to take to reach the next level of the mysterious temple or monument you find yourself in.
One of the best things about Monument Valley is how well the developers nailed the atmosphere of the game. The drawing is great, the music is great, the gameplay is simple – and also great (do you sense a trend yet) – it’s a great game to play when you want to relax as you don’t have to worry about responsiveness. Also, soothing music contributes to your artwork and your character’s slow slow slow slow slow slow slump.

Released in 2012, The Room is centered around a single room and largely a puzzle box in that room. One problem with many mobile games is that they tend to be pale copycats of similar games available on PC or consoles. The Room, on the other hand, is the essence of a game far superior to similar games produced on a touchscreen mobile device, computer or web.
The app was successful enough for its developer to produce two separate sequels, both of which built on the first premise – solving a series of closely interconnected puzzles. Room 3 offers excellent graphics, enough for the iTunes description to include a warning about older iOS devices. That said, the iPad Pro obviously has more than enough power to throw at it, and the larger screen lends itself very well to solving a variety of puzzles. At just $4.99, The Room 3 is a worthwhile purchase – but those with high blood pressure might want to watch out, as these types of games can be absolutely infuriating at times!
Well, it’s time to get the blood pumping after a few simple games. Smash Hit deliberately offers a simple premise: You get stuck on a set of tracks traveling through a crystal world, so to speak. As you pass through each zone, complex structures will rise and block your way. It’s up to you and your limited stock of balls to clear the way, trigger doors, and so on.
We love this on the iPad Pro, as the game takes advantage of Apple’s multi-touch screens – if you have an obstacle blocking your way, you can tap both ends simultaneously to clear it. If you can get to the end of the game, you are rewarded with an endless game mode. Smash Hit is definitely worth a look as it is free to download; If you decide to like it, unlocking the premium mode is an in-app purchase for only $1.99.
Geometry Wars was news when it was released as a minigame on the original Xbox, but it really took a big leap forward when the developers released a sequel to Xbox 360’s Live Arcade. Players were immediately captivated by the stunning visuals, rhythmic bass, vibrant colors and intense, high-action gameplay. Geometry Wars 3 was released last year and reinvigorated the series by adding a third dimension to the traditional 2D gameplay.
You might wonder if a game like this could be successfully translated into something like the iPad, which gets rid of the control sticks for a multi-touch touchscreen – but I’m happy to say it. With sharp graphics and the same bright colors it’s known for, this series looks great on iPad Pro and is even easier than playing the same game on iPhone. Broken Age is perhaps the most expensive – to develop, not to buy – game on our list, but the result is definitely worth it. Double Fine, the developer behind this title, is an absolute master of point-and-click adventure, and Broken Age is a perfect example of how good this type of game can be. Initially starting as a Kickstarter campaign, the developers took nearly three and a half million dollars to bring the title to life.
I played the game on the computer and it’s hilarious – an engaging story, well-drawn visuals, good voice acting – pretty much anything you could want. iPad Pro lets you really appreciate how good the picture is. $9.99 is an easy price for this game, given the hours of enjoyment it will bring.
