Apple Watch Series 8: Body temperature sensor would finally be in the program

Apple is currently developing a number of new products. Apple Watch Series 8, the next linked watch series. According to the latest news, the American group focuses on the creation of new tools dedicated to health.

According to previous leaks, the Apple Watch Series 8 would include a sensor to measure body temperature. For Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, this tool is facilitate fertility planning. Ming-Chi Kuo, a financial analyst specializing in Apple products, also believes the connected watch will carry such a sensor.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 has no temperature sensor

According to him, Apple had already planned to apply the temperature sensor to the Apple Watch Series 7, the connected watch released last year. “Apple has canceled body temperature measurement for Apple Watch 7 because algorithm is not suitable”Underlining Ming-Chi Kuo on his Twitter account, he states that the Apple Watch Series 8 should use this sensor in the following cases. “The algorithm can meet Apple’s high pre-mass production requirements”. Frankly, the existence of this technology is not yet finalized.

Apple refuses to settle for an approximate temperature measurement. The group wants the algorithm to provide accurate reading of body temperature. “The challenge of accurately measuring body temperature is that skin temperature changes rapidly depending on external environments. A smartwatch cannot offer body temperature measurement via its hardware, so it needs a great algorithm to work.explains the analyst.

Apple wouldn’t be the only manufacturer to face challenges in temperature sensing algorithms. Faced with the same challenge as its rival, Samsung Forget the Galaxy Watch 5’s temperature sensornext connected clock, “due to algorithm limitations”. The smartwatch is expected in the second half of 2022.
