Apple Watch 2 Coming Soon, But Don’t Get Too Excited

Apple Watch 2 rumors have been heating up lately as we head into 2016, and a new report suggests we’ll see an Apple Watch 2 release earlier this year.

It’s been almost a year since the Apple Watch was first released, and it was originally launched in late April last year. As with most Apple products, many users were wondering if the Apple Watch would have an annual refresh cycle, and this was a necessary question as smartwatches are slightly different from smartphones and tablets.

That said, we’ve been hearing all kinds of rumors about the Apple Watch 2, which is rumored to arrive at some point this year, but things like new features have been pretty scarce in the rumor mill.

The good news is that there is a new report claiming the Apple Watch 2 release is just around the corner, but the details tell us not to get as excited as you might be right now.

By 9to5MacApple plans to announce and launch the Apple Watch 2 at some point in March, but the refresh won’t be as big of an overhaul as you might think.

Instead, Apple is said to be introducing a new set of band color options, along with some options from various partnerships like the one we saw with Hermes last year. No hardware refreshes are expected at the time, but it’s possible that Apple will release watchOS 2.2 to the public during this time and bring some new functionality to the Apple Watch.

This update is already in beta mode and includes the ability to use multiple Apple Watches with the same iPhone, as well as a handful of Apple Map improvements to the wearable.

9to5Mac It also says that an actual Apple Watch 2 release will arrive in the fall, possibly with an announcement in September when the iPhone 7 launches, but that’s not in the way yet.

That said, the March rumor for new Apple Watch products goes well with some other Apple rumors, including the iPhone 6c (or iPhone 5se), which is rumored to be announced in March. Apple is likely to hold a March event before WWDC 2016 this year.

Overall, it looks like this year will be a busy year for Apple as they will be holding a number of events and announcing a lot of new products, but we’ll have to wait and see what the company will have its sleeves up for. this year.
