All will switch to iPadOS 16, an iOS derivative. So this partially invalidates the theory that the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are no longer powerful enough.
Some users cynically claim that this is basically a financial decision. And this is absolutely not wrong. First, it costs time and money to adapt iOS 16 to A10 Fusion. Then Apple would definitely prefer these two iPhone users to refresh their phones (and preferably at Apple). Note that Apple’s estimate for iPhone sales in 2022 will be 20 million lower than it was in 2021. This is a shocking argument for shareholders.
