There has never been a great deal of love between Apple and leakers. The voltage peak was probably reached shortly before the launch of the iPhone, which was particularly the subject of the phenomenon. Apple then made the decision to collapse by forcing its employees to wear cameras or calling on the leakers to reveal their sources. In addition, the company is currently on the alert regarding the resale of confidential information.
That certainly explains the complaint Rivos has filed against a rival start-up looking to develop its own chip. To do this, Rivos would specifically target former Apple employees during its hiring process. And there’s a simple reason for this: According to Apple, this will be a way for beginners to get the manufacturing secrets about the M1 chip.
An Apple competitor uses its former employees to recover confidential information
Apple claims its former engineers will get their hands on these manufacturing secrets in various ways in hopes of getting hired by Rivos. According to the manufacturer, employees will store this information privately on USB keys, while others will use AirDrop to retrieve data from the company’s partner apps.
Another technique outlined by Apple: employees would make Time Machine backups to make an exact copy of Apple devices and then export them to a storage device. “Others have recorded big rollouts on existing but not yet released Apple SoCs. […] in their own personal cloud »Finally, it refers to Apple.
The complaint filed by the Cupertino company currently mentions two former employees. The latter has been hired by Rivos since leaving Apple.
