You might be wondering if you bought a new AirPods Pro this holiday season or are you debating whether to invest in new headphones for the new year, “What will I do with a pair of AirPods Pro?AirPods Pro is not just an ordinary earphone that connects to your phone; there are many little features that enhance your experience while using them.
You have the options to switch between Noise Cancellation and Transparency settings, switch between your songs with the push of a button, customize your audio experience and controls, use your phone as a live microphone, share and share your music. If you misplace AirPods Pro.
1. Noise Cancellation and Transparency
One of the sure-fire features in AirPods Pro that the original AirPods don’t have is noise canceling and transparency. These features are unique to AirPods Pro, thanks to the snug-fitting silicone tips that seal your ear and mute a lot of surrounding noise.
What are these settings?
Active Noise Cancellation
The earplugs you use while flying red-eye, or a pair of earplugs that fit well, have a noise canceling setting that will make it difficult to hear the person sitting next to you. This is a kind of passive noise canceling (Natural version of AirPods Pro without any settings) – AirPods Pro active Noise canceling technology that blocks out sounds you can hear through passive noise canceling.

Transparency is a setting that lets you hear the ambient sounds around you and listen to your music at the same time. If you have the original AirPods, the setting is very similar. Thanks to the natural passive noise cancellation that AirPods Pro provides, the transparency setting allows you to hear the world around you.
Applying Audio Settings to Your AirPods Pro
Stage 1: Turn on your AirPods Pro by placing both earbuds in your ears.
Step 2: Once your AirPods Pro are connected, go to your Settings app on your iPhone or iPad and click on Bluetooth.
Stage 3: Click the ‘i’ next to your AirPods Pro (you can change their name as shown later in this guide).
Step 4: Click between the different settings to hear the difference between them and set your preferred sound setting.
2. Tighten the Handle
Wondering what that slender handle is that kisses your face from the sides? Well, on that body there is a force sensor installed for you to control your music.
When you tap (or lightly squeeze) the handle, you will hear a click if done correctly.
Play and Pause
Give the body a tap to play and pause the audio.

If you want to skip to the next song, double-tap the body.
Going back
Press the body three times to return to the previous song.
3. Customize Root Checks
Love using the controls on the ear buds but don’t like the default settings? You can customize your controls according to your needs.
Stage 1: Once your AirPods Pro are connected, go to your Settings app on your iPhone or iPad and click on Bluetooth.
Step 2: Tap on the blue ‘i’ To the right of your AirPods Pro.
Stage 3: Find Root Checks. You can choose what each AirPods Pro earbuds does.
Step 4: You can choose:
- Noise control: Switch between Noise Canceling, Transparency, or completely mute
- Siri: Gives you access to Siri similar to what you say “Hi Siri…” if you have voice activated control
4. Spatial Sound and Stereo Sound
With AirPods Pro, the option to switch between spatial and stereo sound has been given. What is the difference between the two?
Spatial sound is recorded to recall sounds to the listener as if you were placed in the middle of a live recording. If the singer is on your right and the drum kits are on your left, the sound played on your AirPods Pro will mirror that location.
Stereo sound intensifies this by delaying sounds by milliseconds to create the illusion of space during recording. These are very generalized descriptions.
Stage 1: Plug in your AirPods Pro and make sure they are connected to your device.
Step 2: Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad and go to Bluetooth. Wait for your device to find your AirPods Pro unit.
Stage 3: click blue “According to mePress the ” button next to your AirPods Pro.
Step 4: Scroll down until you see Spatial Audio. Tap on Spatial Audio.
This will open a new screen where you click through the different styles. Make sure both AirPods fit tightly in your ear.
Switch between Stereo Audio and Spatial Audio if you want to hear the difference. Be sure to use recorded audio for spatial audio to get the full effect. There are many sources on YouTube or you can use the sound selection built into your device.
5. Name Your AirPods Pro
When you sync your AirPods Pro with your phone, the default name given to them is: Your name is AirPods Pro. It’s a functional name, and unlike many other devices with vague abbreviations, it’s easy to know which device you’re syncing to.
Apple also lets you change the name however you want – and here you can let your personality shine through.
Stage 1: Access your AirPods Pro menu by opening the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad and selecting Bluetooth.
Step 2: Click the blue “i” button next to your AirPods Pro.
Stage 3: Click the arrow (>) on the Name tab.
Step 4: Click on the default name given to you to change and rename your AirPods.
The new name you give your AirPods Pro will appear in all the apps you use to connect to your AirPods: Bluetooth menu, Find My App. This is a great way to differentiate your devices if you have multiple sets of AirPods connected to your device.
6. Check Your Fit
When you open your new AirPods Pro box, you may notice that there is a small container holding two ends of different sizes that you can use. Depending on the size of your ear canals, you may need to change the tips for a more secure fit.
This is great for keeping your AirPods in your ear while exercising and creating a proper seal of noise cancellation and comfort.
Stage 1: Access your AirPods Pro menu by opening the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad and selecting Bluetooth.
Step 2: Click the blue “i” button next to your AirPod Pro.
Stage 3: Click on ‘Ear Tip Fit Test’.’
Make sure each AirPods Pro fits snugly in your ear and is comfortable enough to wear all day.
Step 4: Select Continue and tap the blue button to start the Eartip Insertion Test. The volume below is a bit loud, and it may come as a surprise at first if you don’t expect it.
Step 5: Review your results – did you have a suitable seal? Need to adjust one or both AirPods Pro parts? You can change the tips or try wiggling the AirPods so they fit snugly in your ear and try the test again.
7. Share Audio with AirPlay
An easy way to share audio with your friends is to give them one of your AirPods, and while that works, you’ll lose some of the spatial sound effects we have enabled on our AirPods. If your friend has their own AirPods, AirPods Pro, or Beats headphones connected to their iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, you can share your audio with them.
Stage 1: Put on your AirPods Pro and make sure they are connected to your iPhone and playing the music you want to share.
Step 2: Click this icon to the right of your song from your Lock Screen.
Stage 3: Click Share Audio.
Step 4: Click Share Audio on your iPhone. If this option is not visible, you may need to approach your friend’s device.
Step 5: Ask your friend to Join or connect AirPods, AirPods Pro or Apple Beats on their phone.
8. Use Live Listen
Live Listening that turns your iPhone into a wireless microphone that streams to your AirPods Pro. This is useful if you’re in a busy cafe and need to talk to someone but can’t hear what they’re saying.
Stage 1: Open Settings Select the app on your iPhone or iPad and click Control Center.
Step 2: Scroll through the list of options until you find it. Hearing button. Click the plus (+) sign next to it. We are adding the Hearing button to our Control Center.
Stage 3: Connect and plug your AirPods Pro units into your iPhone.
Step 4: Swipe up from the bottom of your screen to access Control Center. Click the hearing button, it sounds like it.
Step 5: Click on Listen Live. The microphone on your iPhone will amplify surrounding sounds, so move it closer to the person you’re trying to hear.
Adjust the sound as needed.
You can control the volume of your microphone (the sound is projected from your phone) by seeing how many of these circles turn white. The more circles filled, the louder the sound.
Step 6: If you no longer want to use this feature, click Listen Live again to turn it off.
9. Finding Lost AirPods Pro
When you misplace your phone, you want to try and ring it to find it by sound – did you know you can do that with your AirPods Pro too? If you’re a little forgetful or in a rush of the moment, put your AirPods Pro down and forget where you put it. Apple has a feature to help you out!
As long as your AirPods Pro are near any of your Apple devices and connected to Bluetooth (that is, this won’t work when their battery is dead), you can play a sound to help you find them through the Find My app.
Stage 1: Open the Find My app. If you don’t have the app, you can download it.
Step 2: Click the Devices tab. This will open a menu with all your Apple Devices.
Stage 3: Find your AirPods Pro that you misplaced in the list. It will open a menu listing the last seen location.
Step 4: Make sure you don’t have AirPods in your ear, the sound emitted is too loud. Tap Play Sound to play a slowly rising sound.
You can choose which AirPods Pro you’re looking for and have the sound come out of both or one at the same time. For this to work, your Airpods Pro must be charged and close enough to be within range of your phone.
