5 Things to Know About iPadOS 15.1 Update

Apple has released the iPadOS 15.1 update for the iPad, and the software, iPad, iPad Pro, iPad Airand iPad mini

Unlike iPadOS 15.0.2, iPadOS 15.1 is a landmark upgrade. As such, it brings a mix of new features, enhancements, bug fixes and security patches to the company’s tablet lineup.

iPadOS 15.1 Review

Even if your iPad is currently running iPadOS 15.0.2, iPadOS 15.1 requires a sizable download.

If your tablet is running an older version of iPadOS, your update will likely be larger. In some cases, much larger. This is because the features and fixes from the iPadOS update(s) you skipped are added to your iPadOS 15.1 release.

If your device is currently running iPadOS 15.0.2, the installation will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. It took about seven minutes to install on one of our older iPad Pro models.

If you are experiencing bugs or performance issues with iPadOS 15.0.2 or an earlier version of iPadOS, you should consider installing the iPadOS 15.1 update right now.

iPadOS 15.1 Issues

iPadOS 15.1 is causing issues for iPad users.

The current list of iPadOS 15 issues includes installation issues, battery life issues, issues with first and third-party apps, UI lag, Face ID issues, UI lag, Wi-Fi issues, and Bluetooth issues.

Note that if you can’t stand the performance of iPadOS 15.1 on your iPad, you can’t downgrade to the older iPadOS software.

Apple stopped signing in iPadOS 15.0.2; This means that you cannot move your iPad back to the previous iPadOS version to improve its performance. Unfortunately, you can’t downgrade your iPad’s software to an earlier version than iPadOS 15.0.2 either.

This means those of you upgrading to iPadOS 15.1 should be careful. Once you take action, you cannot revert to your current iPadOS version.

iPadOS 15.1 Update: What’s New

iPadOS 15.1 Jailbreak

If you’re still jailbreaking, avoid the iPadOS 15.1 update.

developer teams behind checkra1n and UnC0ver jailbreaking tools have released versions compatible with newer versions of iPadOS 14, but these are not compatible with iPadOS 15. At least not yet.

Apple has confirmed that a new version of iPadOS 15 and iPadOS 15.2 is currently in beta before it’s generally available. The company has yet to confirm a specific release date, but it should drop sometime before the end of the year.
