5 Things to Know About iOS 14.7.1 Update

Apple has sent an iOS 14.7.

Unlike the previous iOS 14.7 update, iOS 14.7.1 is a points upgrade and brings an important bug fix and a new security patch to iPhone owners.

iOS 14.7.1 Issues

iOS 14.7.1 is causing issues for some iPhone users. Some issues are brand new, while others are ported from older versions of iOS 14.

The current list of iOS 14 issues includes installation issues, lag, Exchange issues, issues with first and third party apps, hotspot issues, touchscreen issues, calendar spam, issues with Touch ID and Face ID, random stuttering and charging issues .

iOS 14.7.1 Update: What’s New

Apple had to push iOS 14.7.1 to fix an issue where iPhone models with Touch ID could not unlock a paired Apple Watch using the iPhone Unlock feature. The update is also new security patch on board.

If you haven’t installed iOS 14.7, you will receive its changes with iOS 14.7. Apple’s milestone updates almost always bring a mix of new features, security patches, and key improvements to iPhone users, and that’s what iOS 14.7 has to offer to iPhone users.

iOS 14.7.1 Jailbreak

developer teams behind checkra1n and UnC0ver jailbreaking tools have released versions compatible with newer versions of iOS 14, but only Checkra1n (currently in beta) is compatible with iOS 14.5. They do not yet support iOS 14.7.1, iOS 14.7, iOS 14.6 or iOS 14.5.1.

The latest version of unC0ver is compatible with newer iPhones, including the iPhone 12 series. This is great news if you’ve been waiting to jailbreak your new phone. Unfortunately it is only compatible with versions up to iOS 14.3.

There is no way to downgrade your phone to iOS 14.3 or earlier; this means you are out of luck if you upgrade or have already upgraded to iOS 14.7.1, iOS 14.7, iOS 14.6, iOS 14.5.1, iOS. 14.5, iOS 14.4.2, iOS 14.4.1 or iOS 14.4.
