5 Things to Know About iOS 14.5 Update

Apple has finally released the iOS 14.5 update and the milestone upgrade brings a long list of changes to iPhone users.

iOS 14.5 beta is over and the software is now available for download if you have a compatible iPhone model. iOS 14.5 is compatible with all phones running iOS 14. iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro MaxiPhone SE2, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Proand iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Unlike iOS 14.4.2, iOS 14.5 is a massive upgrade and brings a mix of new features, bug fixes and security patches to iPhone owners around the world.

With that in mind, we want to bring you everything you need to know about Apple’s iOS 14.5 upgrade.

We’ll start with the early performance of iOS 14.5.

iOS 14.5 Review

If your iPhone is currently running iOS 14.4.2, iOS 14.5 requires a fairly large download.

For iOS 14.4.2 users, iOS 14.5 download will be about 1GB. iOS 14.5 is a 1.21GB download for iPhone 12 Pro users upgrading from previous iOS 14 versions.

The exact size of iOS 14.5 depends on your iPhone model and currently running iOS version. So, if your iPhone is running an older version of iOS, you’ll likely see a larger download as your upgrade will include features, fixes, and/or patches you skipped from iOS updates.

If you’re upgrading from iOS 14.4.2, iOS 14.5 should take less than 15 minutes to install. It took about nine minutes to load on an iPhone 12 Pro and an iPhone X.

If your iPhone is having problems with iOS 14.4.2 or an older version of iOS, you may want to install the iOS 14.5 update on your iPhone immediately.

iOS 14.5 Issues

iOS 14.5 is causing issues for some iPhone users. Some issues are brand new, while others are ported from older versions of iOS 14.

Current list of iOS 14 issues, installation issues, lag, Exchange issues, issues with first and third party apps, hotspot issues, severe battery drain, touch screen issues, issues with Touch ID and Face ID, green tint on iPhone 12 includes problems. , random stuttering, charging issues, and various other bugs/performance issues.

Apple is currently signing iOS 14.4.2; this means you can revert back if iOS 14.5 starts giving you problems.

You cannot downgrade from iOS 14.4.2, so keep that in mind if you’re having a good experience with iOS 14.4.1 or lower. If you are on iOS 14.4.1 or earlier and upgrade to iOS 14.5, there is no going back.

iOS 14.5 Update: What’s New

As expected, iOS 14.5 is a major upgrade for the iPhone. This is the biggest release since iOS 14 arrived in September.

iOS 14.5 also includes security patches and you can learn about them. on Apple’s website.

iOS 14.5 Jailbreak

developer teams behind checkra1n and UnC0ver jailbreaking tools have released versions that are compatible with newer versions of iOS 14 but not iOS 14.5, iOS 14.4.2, iOS 14.4.1, or iOS 14.4. At least not yet.

The latest version of unC0ver is compatible with newer iPhones, including the iPhone 12 series. This is great news if you’ve been waiting to jailbreak your new phone.

However, there is no way to downgrade your phone to iOS 14.3 or older; this means that if you upgrade or have already upgraded, you are out of luck. iOS 14.5, iOS 14.4.2, iOS 14.4.1 or iOS 14.4.

Apple has patched the vulnerabilities used by these jailbreaks, so it’s unclear how long it will take before we see tools for these versions of iOS 14.

what’s next

Apple has confirmed a new version of iOS 14, but it could take weeks to reach the general public.

The company has put iOS 14.6 into beta testing, and the pre-release version of the firmware is currently available for download through the company’s beta programs.

Like iOS 14.5, iOS 14.6 is a landmark upgrade which means it should carry new features, fixes, enhancements and security patches.
