5 Things to Know About iOS 14.5.1 Update

Apple has sent a new iOS 14.5.1 update to iPhone users and there is a significant change in the score upgrade.

Unlike iOS 14.5, which is a major upgrade for iPhone users, iOS 14.5.1 is a minor upgrade with a bug fix and new security patches on board. It does not bring any new features to the iPhone.

iOS 14.5.1 Issues

iOS 14.5.1 is causing issues for some iPhone users. Some of these issues are brand new, while others are ported from older versions of iOS 14.

iOS 14.5.1 Update: What’s New

iOS 14.5.1 is a minor upgrade for iPhone. Again, it has a bug fix and two security patches on board.

The software fixes an issue with App Tracking Transparency where some users who had previously disabled Allow Apps to Request Tracking in Settings were not getting prompts from apps after re-enabling them.

iOS 14.5.1 Jailbreak

developer teams behind checkra1n and UnC0ver jailbreaking tools have released versions compatible with newer versions of iOS 14, but only Checkra1n (currently in beta) is compatible with iOS 14.5. Unfortunately, none of them seem to work with iOS 14.5.1.

The latest version of unC0ver is compatible with newer iPhones, including the iPhone 12 series. This is great news if you’ve been waiting to jailbreak your new phone. Unfortunately it is only compatible with versions up to iOS 14.3.

There is no way to downgrade your phone to iOS 14.3 or earlier; this means you are out of luck if you upgrade or have already upgraded to iOS 14.5.1, iOS 14.5, iOS 14.4.2, iOS 14.4.1. or iOS 14.4.

Apple has confirmed a new version of iOS 14 and it should land soon.

The company has put iOS 14.6 into beta testing, and the pre-release version of the firmware is currently available for download through the company’s beta programs.

Like iOS 14.5, iOS 14.6 is a landmark upgrade which means it should carry new features, fixes, enhancements and security patches.
