Apple has released a new iOS 12.5.2 update for older iPhone, iPad and iPod touch models.
iOS 12.5.2 is a point update and a minor upgrade for the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, the original iPad Air, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3 and iPod touch sixth generation.
If your iPhone or iPad is currently running iOS 12.5.1, you’ll see a short changelog and a small download. If your iPhone or iPad is running an older version of iOS 12, your iOS 12.5.2 update may be larger because changes from updates you skipped are included in your upgrade.

If your device is currently running iOS 12.5.1, it should take less than 10 minutes to install iOS 12.5.2. It took about seven minutes to load on an iPhone 5s.

iOS 12.5.2 Issues
The iOS 12.5.2 update is minor, but it can have a huge impact on your device’s performance.

If you are uncomfortable with the performance of iOS 12.5.2 on your iPhone or iPad, keep in mind that you cannot upgrade to iOS 12.5.1 to improve your device’s performance. Apple stopped logging in the previous version of iOS 12. Apple also doesn’t log in on older versions of iOS 12.
Upgrade to iOS 12.5.2 and you’re stuck there. Keep this in mind if you’re still stuck with older iOS software.
iOS 12.5.2 Update: What’s New

There are no known bug fixes or features in iOS 12.5.2.
iOS 12.5.2 Jailbreak
You can jailbreak newer versions of iOS 12, but it’s currently unclear whether you can jailbreak iOS 12.5.2.
The developers behind “unc0verThe jailbreaking tool for iOS has released a new version called 5.0.0, which is compatible with most iOS versions between iOS 14.3 and iOS 11.0.
If you have or want to jailbreak, you will want to avoid iOS 12.5.2 and continue using whatever version of iOS your device is currently running.

We don’t know what’s next for iOS 12 users.
Apple has not confirmed a new version of iOS 12, and there is no guarantee that the company will continue to provide new software to owners of these devices in the coming months.
If you decide you want the latest features, you’ll need to upgrade to an iPhone or iPad compatible with iOS 14 or iPadOS 14.
