1. Microsoft Office
Microsoft has recently consolidated its productivity suite of applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Sticky Notes, Office Lens, and more, into a single solution called Microsoft Office. This is the Swiss Army Knife of productivity tools.
The Office app is packed with tips and tricks. Among them is the ability to sign a PDF function. The add-on is free and does not require an Office 365 subscription.
Open the Office app to get the Sign PDF option under the Actions menu. Open files from device storage, OneDrive or Dropbox and choose where to mark.
A blank whiteboard will appear to add the signature. You can import a sign from the picture, keep the signature and even change its color from the default black to green or blue.
Documents are saved under the annotated section in the app. Microsoft Office is free to download.
2. Adobe Fill and Sign
Another software giant, Adobe, has released a dedicated Adobe Sign & Fill app for both iOS and Android. As the name suggests, users can sign the form and fill in the required information.
You can add text, crosses, bullet points, and more when you tap the blank screen. To add a mark, select the pen option below and create a signature or import from image or camera. Unfortunately, you cannot change the color of the sign.

3. SignEasy
This is for advanced users. SignEasy is preferred for those who make deals frequently and need signatures from customers. Tap the ‘+’ icon in the upper left corner and import documents from Email, Photos, Files or third party cloud storage. Select the sign button and you will see the true potential of the SignEasy app.
You can sign it yourself, sign with another person, or even request a signature from another person in a different location. It is beneficial for business partners who may be in different locations.
You can draw the signature, change its color and size, and drag it to your preferred location. You can also add dates and text to documents.
SignEasy provides a template function to store frequently used documents for future use. Other functions include biometric security, customized email footer, iCloud storage sync and more.

4. Document Signature
Before I move on, I must say that DocuSign provides the worst recruiting user experience. There is no sign-up via Google, Facebook or Apple.
Tap the ‘+’ button and import the file from local storage or third-party cloud storage. The app will ask if you need to sign or if you want others to add a signature. You can add the recipient’s name and email address to share the document.
In the document, select any empty space and a dialog will open. Signature, initials, date, name, company and even checkbox can be added to the file. I like that DocuSign allows members to reject signature with justification. This is a nice touch.
Basic functionality is free, but advanced sharing, templates, and security features are covered by the $9/month paid personal plan. There are also special plans for Real Estate and Business plans.
5. Sign Now
I know UI is not important in these apps, but I must say SignNow has the best UI among all apps. The formula remains the same. Import the document from the device or cloud storage and tap the empty space to add signature, initials, text, date or checkmark.
You can use either a fountain pen or a highlighter when creating a sign. You can also change the color of the sign. The app prompts you to invite others and share a direct link to a document with the app download source. You can also create templates for the most used documents.
The app is free for up to three documents. After that, it will cost $90 per year.
