These upgrades and possible shipping delays are among the reasons you might want to consider pre-ordering once sales start.
If Apple Stores and retailers are open in your area, you should be able to find the iPhone 12 Pro Max or iPhone 12 mini in stock on the day of release.
However, in-store stock can be unpredictable, and there’s a good chance you’ll be left empty-handed or with a model that’s your second or third choice.
The basic version of the iPhone 12 mini starts at $699 before the swap, while the basic version of the iPhone 12 Pro Max starts at $1099. These prices increase as you add additional internal storage.
It may be tempting to buy an iPhone 12 Pro Max or iPhone 12 mini right away, but spending $700 to $1100 or more on a product you haven’t had the chance to try in person makes it a tough decision.

Pre-Order Your Device If You Want It ASAP
If you want your iPhone 12 Pro Max or iPhone 12 mini to arrive as soon as possible, you’ll probably want to pre-order it.
We may not see a full sale, but there is a very good chance that we will see some and perhaps all shipping dates pushed to late November or December.

If you want guaranteed delivery on or around November 13, you’ll want to place a pre-order through Apple, your carrier, or your favorite retailer as soon as pre-orders begin.
If you don’t and shipping times slip for the model you want, you’ll have to go to a store or wait a few weeks for your new phone to arrive.

Pre-Order If You Want A Popular Model
The iPhone 12 mini comes in five different colors (blue, green, black, white and (PRODUCT)RED) and three storage sizes (64GB, 128GB and 256GB), while the iPhone 12 Pro Max comes in four colors (graphite, silver, gold and pacific blue) and three storage sizes (128GB, 256GB and 512GB).
We expect iPhone 12 Pro Max models to be sold out quickly. Apple’s Max/Plus/Pro models are extremely popular, and we don’t expect the high prices to scare away buyers.
We also saw a lot of demand for the Pacific Blue iPhone 12 Pro, so we could see the blue iPhone 12 Pro Max models selling out faster than other colors.
Pre-Order to Avoid Stores
If you’re pre-ordering but still want an iPhone 12 Pro Max or iPhone 12 mini on or around November 13, you’ll need to head to a physical store when the phones hit the shelves.
We probably won’t see lines encircling entire city blocks, Apple discouraging lineshowever, we may see a lot of foot traffic in some places if the devices are pre-sold.
If you don’t want to avoid crowds of people and/or stand outside in the cold/heat due to the pandemic, you’ll want to pre-order/buy your device online.
There’s also no way of knowing what kind of stock Apple and its retail partners will have on November 13. Some stores may have too much stock, while others may have irregular or too little stock. In other words, you have a chance to leave the store with your backup plan or nothing.
If you don’t want to try your luck, buy your iPhone online.
Wait for Reviews
The iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 12 mini look great on paper, but there’s no guarantee you’ll want all the changes Apple has made this year.
We don’t expect iPhone 12 Pro Max or iPhone 12 mini reviews to be released before pre-orders begin. That said, we expect reviews to trickle in after a few days.
Buying an iPhone 12 Pro Max or iPhone 12 mini might sound great, but many of you are better off going with a cheaper model like the one below. iPhone 11, iPhone SE, iPhone XS, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8or iPhone 8 Plus.
You’ll also want to investigate Apple’s two other iPhone 12 models, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro.

This may be easy for some of you, but for others it will take some time to complete. In some cases, it may take a week or more.

Wait for Opportunities
