Let’s start with the good news: You don’t even need to download and install third-party software, Windows 10 offers a native feature that lets you do this very quickly and easily.
Windows 10 natively lets you rename several files at once
Here is the procedure to follow:
- Open the relevant folderFile Explorer
- Select all the files you want to rename (ctrl key will be pressed for multiple selection, Shift key by clicking on last file for extended selection)
- Press F2 key from your keyboard or go to: Home > Rename
- Type the filename you want
- That’s it, all your files have been renamed and now have the same name. They are distinguished from each other by a number enclosed in parentheses after the name (X).
