iPhone 6 accessories can be expensive, especially if you buy them directly from Apple, but here are a few places where you can buy iPhone 6 accessories for much less.
Apple sells some high-end accessories like it. iPhone 6 leather caseComing with a great texture that really adds some stylish style to your smartphone, but it costs $45. Also, Apple’s own Lightning USB cables cost almost $20. If you buy one for your car, office, and bedroom, that’s $60 on already crappy USB cables.
Fortunately, there are other sources for buying iPhone 6 accessories and you don’t have to compromise on quality by spending less on them. Many places sell iPhone 6 accessories much cheaper than Apple does, and if you can take care of used accessories, you can save even more cold cash.
Here are five places to buy cheap iPhone 6 accessories.
eBay
eBay is a risky place to look for iPhone 6 accessories, but you can find great deals on genuine items if you’re careful. However, even if it says “original” or “Made for iPhone” on the list, you still need to be careful.
For example, I recently went hunting on eBay in hopes of finding someone who survived Lightning cables. I was aware that eBay was full of Chinese imitations that claimed to be genuine Lightning cables, but I found a listing in the US that sells “genuine” cables for around $11 per piece. They were probably still fakes, but I pulled the trigger anyway, with the plan to file a complaint and get a refund if they were indeed fake.
eBay can be a great place to buy genuine Apple accessories for cheap.
Not surprisingly, they were fake. However, I filed a complaint and got my money back. You might end up going through a similar process, but if you find a seller who isn’t a “Power Dealer” (a big company that sells a lot on eBay), you’re likely to be fine. In other words, if you can find a casual eBay seller like you looking to get rid of iPhone 6 accessories, that’s usually where you’ll be clear.
However, you can still find some good deals from eBay Power Sellers. I found a used/refurbished iPad mini Smart Case from an Authorized Dealer and he was selling it for $30. I was a little cautious because this case normally costs $80 at the Apple Store, but I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it is a genuine original Smart Case for my iPad.
The bottom line is that with eBay the takeaway is that you’ll have to take the risk, but the buyer has the advantage and you can easily get your money back if something you buy doesn’t match the item’s description.
Craigslist
Craigslist has been hailed as one of the sketchiest places to buy items online, but you can find great deals on iPhone 6 accessories if used with care.
We’ve discussed many times how Craigslist is a scam hotspot, but there are also plenty of good guys out there who really want to sell their stuff to you for quick cash. And since Craiglist is often full of sellers looking to get rid of their old stuff, they’re usually willing to give you a lot.
Again, be careful and know what you’re buying because many sellers like to scam buyers. One thing about the Craigslist website, though, is that iPhone accessories are mixed with iPhone listings, so you might have some difficulty sorting through iPhone listings and finding accessories for sale.
Amazon
Amazon sells its own iPhone Lightning cables under the “AmazonBasics” brand. $13 each; this is still by no means cheap, but better than paying $20.
AmazonBasics is essentially Amazon’s in-house brand for miscellaneous accessories. We’ve rounded up some of the best iPhone accessories you can buy from AmazonBasics, including wall chargers, car chargers, audio cables, cases, screen protectors, and even car mounts.
The only problem with the Amazon-branded Lightning cable is that the plastic around the connector is slightly thicker than the Apple version, which means that if your iPhone 6 has a case, the Amazon cable may not fit. So, you may have to go caseless or look for other Lightning cable options, or you may need to find an iPhone 6 case with a larger opening in the Lightning connector.
one price
If you’re looking for even cheaper iPhone 6 accessories, Monoprice is a good place to go. Own iPhone Lightning cables start at just $8It’s the best deal when it comes to original Lightning cables and other iPhone 6 accessories.
If you are not familiar with Monoprice, you should. They make generic “knockout” items like cables, headphones, speakers, and even computer screens, but the quality is much better than what you’ll get from other generic brands in China, which is why we put the word “knock-” in quotes. off”, mainly because Monoprice has become a large and respected brand, not essentially imitation.
Carrier Stores
While carrier stores and retailers in general are generally a crappy place to buy iPhone 6 accessories, they’re still a good place to look, especially when they’re on sale.
Carrier stores sometimes offer discounts on accessories when you buy a new smartphone and sign up for a new two-year contract. This is usually due to cases, cables, etc., rather than more expensive items like Bluetooth speakers or external keyboards. Applies to smaller accessories such as However, the discount is a discount, and saving any money is a good thing.
Taking this route would be a good one if you’re going to upgrade to the iPhone 6, and calling various carriers can give you some insight into the deals they all have going on.
