WhatsApp recently made it possible to send documents to friends in conversations. Currently only PDF documents are supported, but it’s a good start. Here’s how to send documents with the instant messaging client.
What matters now is WhatsApp over one billion users assets were offered the option to send PDF documents to their contacts last March. It’s super convenient and gives instant messaging a new advantage over SMS. Note that for now, only PDF documents are supported by this option, but this is already a big step forward.
The instant messaging client continues to improve on its various updates and is therefore very successful. It’s not in vain that WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger are used three times more than SMS, as Facebook proudly announced at its last F8 conference and is not ready to stop.
- Open an existing conversation or create a new one
- click the icon “trombone” in the top right to open the sharing options
- Six options are then available to you. click “Document”
- Select the document you want to send and click “Send”
It’s that simple and much faster than emailing! Now you can easily send invoices, RIBs or reports without messing with your computer. WhatsApp, which will soon host video calls, has come a long way since its acquisition from Facebook two years ago. The messaging client has just launched its desktop app for Windows and Mac OS X.
