There is no iPhone Speed dial setting for iPhone even in the latest iOS 6 beta versions.
While Android smartphones and clamshell phones allow users to press and hold a number on the keypad to speed dial a contact, Apple uses a different method to quickly dial contacts.
iPhone Phone Favorites allows users to create a short contact list with specific phone numbers and even set up FaceTime to call with one touch.
Apple also expects users to rely on Siri and voice search to search for contacts, but there are plenty of reasons to set favorites for almost speed dialing on the iPhone.

Once this is done, select the contact you want to add as a favourite.
Choose whether you want the speed dial to be set as a regular voice call or a face time call. Face Time over 3G isn’t fully supported in iOS 5, so it’s often wise to opt for voice calling.
As soon as this is selected, the favorite will be successfully added and will appear in the Favorites list shown below.
To use one of the newly created favourites, simply tap the contact’s name; automatically starts the call.
Some other great ways to search people faster are using Voice Control and Siri. Voice Control is available on iPhone 3GS and 4, while Siri is only available on iPhone 4S.
To call someone using one of these, press and hold the home button for three or four seconds and when the menu comes up, say “Call Josh Smith” for example. As long as this is the name listed in the contacts, the phone call will be initiated.
