Updating Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to TouchWiz 1

Updating Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to TouchWiz

If you own one of the stylish new Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Android tablets and have been looking forward to the Samsung TouchWiz update, your wait is over.

As planned, Samsung has started rolling out the TouchWiz interface to the WiFi-only version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 as a wireless update. As long as you have a WiFi connection, you can download the new skin and interface to your device right now.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with 4G LTE on Verizon is scheduled for a similar update in the future, but we haven’t heard when it will roll out.

The TouchWiz interface adds some skins to the stock Android experience. KT is taking a closer look at the new TouchWiz interface as it has early access to the update. As he himself points out, Android loyalists may not appreciate the changes, but for me, I wish it was available for the 4G LTE Galaxy Tab 10.1″ that Verizon sent for review. While I like my Android phones to be near stock, Honeycomb could use a makeover.

Make sure you want TouchWiz before updating as there is no going back.
