Tutorial: How to view web pages in Google Chrome without an internet connection

Smartphones are very practical for surfing the Internet and consulting all kinds of web pages. Unfortunately the slightest connection problem can make navigation impossible. Fortunately, the most popular browser, Google Chrome for Android, lets you download web pages for later reading even if you don’t have an internet connection. Here’s how to use Google Chrome’s offline mode.

How to download a web page in Google Chrome

• Open Google Chrome app
• Open the web page you want to download
• Press the menu button (three vertical dots) to the right of the URL address
• Press the download icon (black arrow)

• Confirm your intent to download the page.

How to Open a Downloaded Webpage in Google Chrome

• Open Google Chrome again to open the page you downloaded
• Open the menu again by tapping the three vertical dots icon in the top right corner of the screen
• Press the “Downloads” button

• In the “Pages” tab, all your downloaded pages are grouped together.
• Open the page you want by clicking on it
• An “offline” tab will open and you can view the entire webpage offline.

Note that downloaded pages are also listed on every new tab In Google Chrome, it opens just below the search bar. Also note that it is possible to download articles recommended by Google on the homepage for later offline reading. To do this, simply click on the sidebar of the article that interests you (in the “Articles for you” section) and click the “Download link” button.
