Before you begin, remember that this manipulation is not without risk. Consider making a backup. Neither Moyens I/O nor the author of this article can be held responsible for any damage that may occur to your device during rooting.
Prerequisites
If you haven’t already, download and install the USB drivers for your Samsung smartphone using this tutorial.
- Enable USB debugging as well as OEM unlocking: Go Settings > About device > Software info then tap on it several times “Build number” To enable Developer Options.
- Go back, still in the Settings menu and “ Developer Options » to activate “USB debugging” also “OEM Unlock”.
Download/unzip the files:
- for Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930F (Exynos processor): CF-Auto-Root-herolte-heroltexx-smg930f.zip
- for Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge SM-G935F (Exynos processor): CF-Auto-Root-hero2lte-hero2ltexx-smg935f.zip
Inside it should be the necessary files for root. We will mainly use the two that are framed, namely:
- Odin3-v3.10.6.exe and one of the following two files (Flat or Edge) depending on the model of your S7
- CF-Auto-Root-herolte-heroltexx-smg930f.tar.md5 for Galaxy S7.
- CF-Auto-Root-hero2lte-hero2ltexx-smg935f.tar.md5 for Galaxy S7 Edge.
Root Galaxy S7/S7 Edge
1. Start by turning off your phone.
2. Then press the keys simultaneously: Volume Down + Home + Power. A blue screen appears on your screen with a warning message. press the key volume up to pass download mode.
3. On your computer, Run Odin in administrator mode. this file Odin3-v3.10.6.exe you opened before
4. Connect your mobile phone to your computer with the USB cable. In ODIN, the box under ID:COM turns blue as proof that your mobile phone has been detected correctly.
5. Click Select AP then file.tar.md5 corresponds to the model of your smartphone (S7 or S7 Edge) that you downloaded to your computer.
6. In the ODIN interface, only the boxes Auto Restart and F. Reset Time checked (See “Options” tab). Box Repartition should not be checked.
7. Start the root procedure by clicking the button Beginning then wait a few minutes.
8. At the end of the installation, you can disconnect your mobile phone from your computer.
9. Congratulations, you have successfully rooted your Samsung Galaxy S7 S7 Edge! If you have any doubts, you can check if root is working with this trick.
Continuing with this method, your flash counter will be incremented (Knox 0x1) And so KNOX will be disabled. Another consequence, Samsung Pay payment method will be permanently disabled after rooting. Avoid this tutorial if you want to use this functionality later!
