Tutorial: How to install Android 4.4.2 KitKat on your Galaxy S4

  • Get a full backup of your data
  • Download the official firmware from this link
  • Download Odin3 v3.09 from here or here

Install Android 4.4.2 firmware on your Galaxy S4

  • Extract the firmware
  • Launch Odin3 v3.09 on your PC
  • Restart your smartphone in “Download” mode by pressing the keys at the same time Power + Volume Up + Volume Down
  • Connect your phone to your PC’s USB port
  • A blue signal will appear when your Galaxy S4 is recognized by Odin
  • Add the file I9505XXUFNA1_I9505OXAFNA1_I9505XXUFNA1_HOME.tar.md5 to the AP domain
  • Check Repartition box is unchecked
  • Click start and wait a few minutes

in case of problems

  • Restart your smartphone in mode Recovery Pressing Power + Home + Volume Up
  • choose option Factory reset using the volume control keys
