Temporarily Disable Siri’s “Hey Siri” on iOS

Using Siri on iOS can be quite helpful and make many tasks easier to perform. Using Siri using the “Hey Siri” voice command has become even easier with the Siri call feature. However, there are times when you don’t want the Siri app to launch itself because it hears a sound like “Hey Siri”. So, if you want to temporarily disable Siri’s “Hey Siri” voice command, you can do it like this:

The problem we’re dealing with here is that we I want Disable voice activation of Siri, actually we don’t want to find Siri settings and turn the option off all together. We just want Siri not to activate itself for a while.

Fortunately for us, Apple has included a great way to actually allow users to disable the activation of Siri when they hear the well-known “Hey Siri” command (or whatever that sounds like). Let’s say you’re going to a meeting. Frankly, you wouldn’t want your iPhone to trigger Siri because it thinks you said “Hey Siri” by mistake, do you? Well, if you don’t want to disable Siri’s voice activation completely, place the phone flat on your face. This is Siri not accidentally activated. Yes, it’s that simple.

note: Placing the phone on its face will prevent Siri from turning on, even if you deliberately say “Hey Siri”.

Disable Hey Siri Activation without going into Siri Settings

Now that you are aware of this great trick to disable voice activation of Siri on your iPhone, you don’t have to worry about going into Siri settings and disabling Siri all together.
