Snapchat is an app that we use every day and several times a day. Not to mention the data consumption that we love, but which melts the battery of our smartphones like snow in the sun. But there are a few tricks to saving both your battery and your mobile plan.
How many times a day do you go on Snapchat? Whether you post a photo or watch your friends’ stories, probably as often as you do on Facebook. Suffice it to say that with all the snaps installed one after the other, your battery is impacted fast, and for good reason. Still, did you know there is a trick to disabling this option that is enabled by default? Here’s how.
How to Enable Travel Mode on Snapchat
In its default settings, the app loads snapshots of all your friends in the background. So the feed is constantly refreshed when you launch it. If you’re constantly connected to Wifi and you always have a charger and a power source nearby, it’s not a problem, but it rarely happens.
Fortunately, the app will work completely differently when you enable Travel mode. All you have to do is:
- scroll down
- Open the menu by clicking the wheel
- Go to Additional Options > Manage Preferences
- Choose “Travel” mode
Initially, this mod was designed for people who regularly travel abroad and have little data, but it can be quite suitable for everyday use.
close location
The second thing to do after enabling travel mode to save your smartphone battery is to disable location access. All you have to do is have your smartphone running Marshmallow or Nougat. Here’s how:
- Go to Settings > Device > Apps on your smartphone
- Select Snapchat then Permissions
- Uncheck the “Location” box
Note that once this option is disabled, you will no longer have access to geo-located filters.
