Siri may still lag behind Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant when it comes to features, but it’s getting more proficient and useful with each new update. You can use Siri not only to get information, but also to control HomeKit devices, play songs, send messages and more. I use Siri every day to reply to messages hands-free. But if you’re not happy with Siri’s voice-to-text transcription, you can ask it to send a voice message. In this post, I will show you how to send a voice or voice message using Siri on iPhone.
Send a Voice or Voice Message Using Siri on iPhone
Sending a voice or voice message using Siri is simple and effective. It fixes the wrong dictation problem because Siri only records what you say and sends the recorded message to the recipient. This means you don’t have to double-check that the transcription is correct.
1. To get started, summon Siri using the “Hey Siri” command or long pressing the Side button (iPhone X and above) or the Home button (iPhone 8 and earlier).
2. Then use the following command to start sending voicemail.
“Send a voice message to (contact name)”
3. Siri will display an “OK recording” message and the Siri icon will begin to animate. Wait 2 seconds and start speaking your message.
4. After finishing your voicemail, you will see the Message card with the attached recording. If you want, press the play button to check the recording and tap the Send button to send the message.
5. If you don’t want to send it manually, use the “Send” command to send the message.
