Galaxy S24 Ultra

It happens to forget the password. But it can quickly become frustrating when it blocks access to your smartphone. In fact, if our phones have improved greatly in terms of security and protection in recent years, this also includes the risk of blocking access to their content yourself if you forget the PIN or other unlocking pattern.

In these cases, a factory reset is usually recommended. This method has the advantage that it definitely works every time, but it also has the serious disadvantage of having to delete all data stored on your smartphone. If you have backed up this data, there is no problem. But in the opposite case, you are definitely looking for an alternative solution to unlock your phone. The good news is, it’s totally possible.

Method 1: Unlock using Samsung Smart Things

The first method consists of going through Samsung’s proprietary platform for all its devices. First you need to make sure that your smartphone tracks your geolocation. To do this, go to: Settings > Google > All services > Find my device then enable the option. Also make sure you’re signed in to your Samsung account and the option is Location is activated.

Once you’re done, here’s how to reset your PIN if you forget it:

  2. Sign in to the same Samsung account as on your smartphone
  3. Your device will appear in the menu on the left. Click on it.
  4. Click the Unlock button on the right
  5. Wait for a few seconds and your smartphone will be unlocked automatically

Method 2: Use a third-party app

DroidKit is an application that allows you to perform numerous operations on your smartphone from your PC. Among these, in particular, there is the option to unlock your device. It’s not effortless, but the method is unstoppable. Here’s how to use it;

  1. click this link to download the application
  2. Install by opening the .exe file
  3. Connect your smartphone to your PC using a USB cable
  4. Open DroidKit and click Screen Unlocker
  5. Then click Start and let the application create the configuration file
  6. Click when you’re finished Remove Now

How to prevent your smartphone from being blocked with Extended Unlocking?

In theory, these two solutions should allow you to access your smartphone without the need for a factory reset box. Otherwise, unfortunately, you will have to agree to delete all your data. If you are the cool type, we strongly recommend that you take precautions to avoid this situation.

There’s nothing better for this than Exted Unlocking. Extend Lock is a solution specific to Samsung smartphones that unlocks your device based on different signals. Here’s how to enable the feature:

  1. open them Settings
  2. see you later Lock screen, later Extend Unlock
  3. Complete the unlock method configured on your smartphone

You can then access three options:

  • Detecting the device when worn: Keeps your smartphone unlocked while you’re on the move (e.g. walking down the street)
  • Verified locations: allows you to configure an address where your smartphone will remain permanently unlocked, such as your home
  • Verified devices: Keeps your smartphone unlocked when connected to a specific device, such as a Bluetooth headset
