Removing an App from iPhone Notification Center 1

Removing an App from iPhone Notification Center

The iPhone notification center is a great way to stay on top of notifications, but it can easily become cluttered with apps requesting access behind the app.

Uninstalling an app from iPhone notification center is easy and you don’t have to uninstall the app to stop notifications.

Fortunately, you can keep your notification center relevant and organized with a few cleaning tips.

While clearing Notification Center, you can also prevent notifications from appearing on the lock screen and wasting battery life.

Removing an App from Notification Center

First, tap the iPhone Settings icon.

Once there tap on the Notifications tab. As shown in the screenshot below, there are several options waiting for you.

The first is the option to sort apps manually or by time. Sorting them manually is to show which app’s notifications are first, second, etc. means you can edit what you want to view. Tap arrange to change the order, and at the far right of an app is a slider where you can tap and drag your apps into your preferred order. If you sort your apps by time, notifications are displayed when they are received.

The first option you have in an app is whether you want to include it in the notification center. By default, most apps are displayed in the notification center. Personally, I don’t like that 50 apps and their notifications appear in my view every time I pull the screen down. I try to keep my notifications in about 20 apps and only allow important apps to access it.

Another thing is the number of items each app can display. Limit this so that your notifications are manageable. Alert style lets you choose what kind of notification you want to receive for an app. Banner style goes from top to bottom, while Alert interrupts everything you do on iPhone.
