As promised, Disney now offers subscribers Disney Plus More than 19 seasons to watch The Simpsons in the show’s original 4:3 aspect ratio. When the subscription streaming service is first launched, only The Simpsons remastered, in a 16:9 aspect ratio — and this caused viewers to miss some visual gags near the top or bottom of the frame.

It didn’t take long for Disney to address viewers’ complaints and announced that it would offer subscribers a choice between 16:9 (optimized for modern widescreen TVs) and the original 4:3 aspect ratio to see episodes as they originally aired.
- Open Disney Plus and navigate to: The Simpsons page. This link should get you there in the web version.
- Select the Details tab.
- You should see a new toggle for “Reorganized Aspect Ratio”. When this is enabled, The Simpsons It is formatted as 16:9. But if you want the true 4:3 experience, all you have to do is turn it off. The pass should be available on all devices that support Disney Plus.
Halfway through its 20th season, The Simpsons switched to widescreen format and high resolution. For all episodes beyond this point, the transition won’t make any difference: you’ll only see HD episodes in 16:9.
