Awards season in Hollywood kicks off on Sunday, February 28, with the 78th Golden Globe Awards hosted by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Hosts and presenters will be in the US and around the world.
Netflix tops the list with a total of 20 nominations for television shows, while streaming services finally make their way to the Globes; Hulu has a total of six nominations, Apple TV Plus has two and Disney Plus has one. In the motion picture categories (Globes honors and TV shows), Netflix leads with 22 nominations.
And apparently the judges of the Golden Globes heard criticism from past years of excluding women Three of the five nominees for best director this year are women.
