The remarkable thing about this year’s derby is that two players from the same team (Chicago Cubs’ Rizzo and Bryant) will be competing, and if they beat their other opponents, it’s possible for two players to face off in the final.
The format of this year’s Home Run Derby will be slightly different from previous years. There is now an eight-player bracket instead of a simple elimination process, and a certain number of exits players receive will be given a time limit with additional bonus time depending on whether they land an extra long hit. You can also stream Home Run Derby on your laptop as follows: MLB.TV. It is essentially the web browser version of MLB At Bat, where you can stream games and watch them live directly on your computer.
However, while you don’t need a Premium subscription to watch the Home Run Derby, you do need to watch regular season matches. The premium package gives you full access to the MLB At Bat mobile app for free (normally $20) and also gives you a choice between home and outdoor streaming when you want to watch a game.
