All signs point to a much earlier release than other Galaxy S releases in recent years. Just like the Galaxy Note 5, which was announced and subsequently released two weeks later in August, the Galaxy S7 will be announced today, February 21, and will launch in 2-3 weeks.
Leaks and rumors have suggested a release internationally on March 3-4, and carriers in the United States are expected to launch the phone around March 11. As the live stream unfolds today, we’ll update with additional details, pre-order information, pricing, accessories, release dates, and more.
We expect Samsung to launch a Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge with a very similar look, feel and design to last year. However, the phones will be curvier with rounded edges on the back, a sleeker design slimmer profile and a smaller camera bump, as well as other minor changes. This year, the Galaxy S7 Edge will be larger than the regular Galaxy S7, not the same size, and will reportedly feature a 5.5-inch Quad-HD display and curves on both sides of the screen.
Buyers get a new and improved 12-megapixel camera, larger battery options for longer use, faster charging, a pressure-sensitive display similar to Apple’s 3D Touch, possibly an Iris (Eye) or retina for extra security over the fingerprint reader. scanner must see, and lots of accessories.
