Derek Jeter’s last home game was played on Thursday, while the legendary short back’s final game will be played against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park later today. Here’s how to watch it live.
This is Derek Jeter’s final season and the Yankees captain has spent the last few months on his “farewell tour”, saying one last goodbye to all the stadiums he’s played at. It’s been a bittersweet season for the Yankees and their teams. But Jeter will undoubtedly be considered one of the most legendary players in the Yankees and most likely a future Hall of Famer.
If you don’t want to miss a piece of history, Derek Jeter’s final match will take place later today at 1:35 PM Eastern Time. It’s unknown if Shortshop will actually play, given that his last shot in Thursday’s final home game was the best finish anyone could imagine. That said, we wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t start, at least if it was changed at some point during the game, so you can probably bet you’ll see Jeter play in the last baseball game ever.
Here’s how to watch Derek Jeter’s latest game live.
Via Cable or Antenna
The easiest way to watch Derek Jeter’s latest game is to tune in on TBS at 1:35 PM ET, then sit back and enjoy. The game is likely to air on another channel, including the YES network, but both channels are only available with a cable or satellite subscription.
However, if all you have is an aerial antenna, you are sadly out of luck, but your options are not limited yet.
Online Streaming
There are several ways to watch live television on your computer, and there are several shady websites where you can stream TV shows and sporting events. one of the sites that came to my mind Stream2Watch. You can do live broadcast sports as well as certain channels to watch a certain incoming television program. It’s also a good idea to activate some type of ad blocker when accessing such websites, as they are often full of ads.
Of course, this practice is mostly illegal (not for you, but for the website providing the service), so we don’t blame you if you don’t feel comfortable doing it. However, your options get a little more subtle from there.
You can also use MLB.TVThis will let you watch baseball games live on your computer, but the service charges $3.99 for the rest of the season, and it’s probably not worth paying $4 to watch if you don’t already have a subscription to the service. just one game, though it will let you watch the playoffs if you’re interested in it.
You can also use the MLB.TV app on various streaming devices, including Apple TV, Xbox, PlayStation or Roku.
Using Bat At MLB
MLB at bat It’s an app available for iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone devices and lets you watch live baseball games right on your phone or tablet. The app itself is free to download, and a one-time fee of $3.99 gives you access to all kinds of stats, highlights, replays, and more for the rest of the season and playoffs.
A big complaint with MLB.TV and MLB At Bat (as well as other live sports apps) is that they have blackout restrictions, meaning you can’t watch if you live near the team you want to watch. This is to get more people to the stadium to watch the game instead of sitting at home and watching it on TV (and it’s also about broadcast licensing rights and a whole lot of other crap). It’s a smart move for the parties involved, but it’s really frustrating for us fans.
There are easy ways to circumvent blackout restrictions if you’re watching the games on your iOS or Android device, but recent updates to MLB At Bat seem to block these methods, so your mileage may vary depending on how you set up your VPN and which VPN service you’re using.
