March Snapchat update supports new chat options on iPhone and Android. For this to work, both people on the call must have the Snapchat update installed, otherwise they will ring busy all the time.

Snapchat calls it Chat 2.0, and there are lots of great ways to use it to communicate with your friends on Snapchat.

To use it, you need an iPhone or Android smartphone with the official Snapchat app updated to the latest version. You don’t need to pay to unlock these options.

How to Use Snapchat Video Calls and Voice Calls

Two of the biggest new features include the ability to initiate video calls and voice calls. You can join a video call just like you would on FaceTime, Skype, or Google Hangouts and join to watch a video call if you just want to see what someone sees.

Swipe to the chat window in the Snapchat app and select the person you want to talk to. Tap the camera icon or phone icon to initiate the type of call you want.

This will ring the other user and then you will be able to chat live video and still send messages and stickers. You can make the video full screen or shrink it while still using Snapchat.

If you don’t want to talk to the person live, you can send short video and audio messages. Instead of tapping the camera or phone icon, press and hold the icon.

As long as you hold it in your hand, or about 30 seconds, you will record audio or video and send it in chat to the person on that chat screen. Drop it when you’re done and it will send automatically.

How to Use Snapchat Stickers in Chat 2.0

Another great feature in the Snapchat update is the ability to use Snapchat Stickers in the Chat area.

Open Snapchat and go to the Chat screen. Swipe to open a conversation with one of your contacts.

Now tap on the smile icon to the right of the menu options. This will let you choose from over 200 new Snapchat stickers. There’s no search option, so you’ll have to scroll through all the new Snapchat stickers to see what you can post.

You can send them to other people by selecting the photos on your iPhone or Android device and tapping the little photo icon to the left of the chat options. This means you can share photos you take outside of Snapchat by accessing the gallery on your Android phone or your Photos app on iPhone.

If you want to take a photo and send it right away, you can tap the circle in the middle of the screen and then take a photo to share with someone on Snapchat.
