If you have an iPhone X or later, you can take a new Snapchat 3D Selfie. This new option lets you combine Snapchat Lenses, filters, and stickers with a 3D-style photo that moves and changes as people watching your photo move their phones.
While you may need a newer iPhone to take 3D selfies, anyone with Snapchat can view them.
This is similar to the 3D photos you probably see on Facebook, and like these options, they’re available in the Snapchat app. Although you can save photos taken with Snapchate lenses, we hope you will lose the 3D effect if you save them.
How to Take a Snapchat 3D Selfie
Use a Snapchat 3D selfie to elevate your Snapchats.
Snapchat 3D selfie is available to users starting today. You need an iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro or iPhone 11 Pro Max. This will not work on iPhone XR or Android phones at this time.
The first thing you should do is update the Snapchat app. This update is rolling out gradually this week, so you may not be able to take a 3D Selfie yet, but you should by the end of the week.

How to take Snapchat 3D Selfie on your iPhone
After updating Snapchat, you can get started. Here’s how to use the Snapchat 3D Selfie feature on your iPhone;
- Open Snapchat and go to Camera.
- Tap the dropdown option in the top right.
- Tap 3D.
- Take a selfie in 3D mode.
- You can swipe for 3D Lenses and Filters.
The video below shows this in action and lets you see some of the Snapchat 3D selfie options you can do right now.
Expect to see more 3D Selfie Lenses added in the near future as Snapchat expands this feature. When you’re done taking your 3D selfie, you can share it like any other snapshot.
