Especially when working on collaborative projects, there are a few basic things I like to have at my disposal for smooth operation. Seamless cooperation and the ability to easily delegate responsibilities to others. Until iOS 13, I had to rely on third-party task managers to assign tasks as the Reminders app didn’t have this feature. But that’s a thing of the past, as I can now share reminders with others on iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 for seamless collaboration when dealing with a shared project.

When you have a responsibility to complete a large project, keeping all participants in sync is key to completing the task on time. It also plays an important role to delegate a certain task to the right person who can take the job with the desired efficiency.

Whether you’re a professional who has to deal with shared projects or a student who has to collaborate with classmates on assignments and case studies, the Assign Reminder feature can come in handy. Let’s find out how it works!

Assign Specific Reminders to Others on iPhone and iPad

  1. Start Open the Reminders app and open the list. (You can create a new list or open an existing one. Tap the Add List button and create a new one.)

2. Tap now. options (…) button top right and select Add people.

3. Next, send invitation to all attendees. Choose a preferred medium like iMessage or Mail and send as usual. In this test, I will send the invitation via iMessage.

4. After that, tap a task that you want to assign to someone else, and then “i” button.

5. Next, tap . Assign Reminder and then select one of the list participants.

Your friend will now receive a notification about the task. Similarly, if anyone assigns you the task, you will also get the warning.

Assign Multiple Tasks to the Same Person at the Same Time

There is also a way to assign multiple tasks to the same person at the same time. The process is equally simple.

1. Open the list in the reminders app to get started. Next, tap on ellipsis (…) button in the upper right corner and then “Choose Reminders” in the menu.

2. What you need to do now select all missions you want to assign and then options (…) button in the lower right corner of the screen.

3. Next, tap on Assign and then select a participant. be sure to touch To apply to approve.

While this nifty feature hasn’t gotten as much attention as Back Tap or App Library or even home screen widgets, it can be very helpful for those who often have to work on shared projects.
