It’s ready to revolutionize photography for professionals and everyday users alike. But what exactly are Photo Styles, how do they work, and how can you use them on your iPhone 13? What Are the Photo Styles in the iPhone 13 Camera App?
Photo Styles is the latest set of photo presets in the iPhone 13 series. You can apply these before shooting with the iPhone 13 camera and see the tone and temperature changes in the viewfinder. Photographic Presets apply a realistic yet beautiful effect to photos, making them stand out according to the chosen style.
Photo Styles on iPhone 13 models are divided into four different presets, each with its own nuances. The styles in discussion are: Rich Contrast, Vivid, Warm and Cool. You can see how each impacts the shot in the image gallery above, but here’s what each does:

You might assume Photo Styles are just filters, but they aren’t. These styles work in a more sophisticated way, where elements of the image are first analyzed and then adjustments are applied in real time. It ensures that a single template filter is not applied to the entire scene, thus ruining some elements that are fine without it.
That’s why you cannot apply Photo Styles after clicking on a picture From the iPhone 13 camera. Any style must be selected and applied in the pre-capture stage before clicking on the image itself.
How iPhone 13’s Photo Styles Work
Unlike just filters, Photo Styles on iPhone work on this principle: preprocessing and have the added benefit of being directly in the camera’s pipeline. This means that Photo Styles are taken into account when taking a photo, and Apple’s intelligent image processing algorithm works accordingly.
So, instead of applying a global filter that makes template adjustments, a Photo Style runs on the iPhone’s camera system and applies the changes in real time. The result is a finely edited image that retains all of its original features but covers the selected stylistic output.

How to Set Up and Use Photo Styles on iPhone 13

1. Start Camera application on your iPhone 13.
2. Make sure you are on Photograph mode before going any further. Then, swipe up from the bottom of the viewfinder and Tap the Photo Styles icon on your iPhone. It looks like three cards stacked in a row, as shown in the image to the right:
4. Review and scroll through the four presets we described above – Rich Contrast, Vivid, Warm and Cool. Each has its own effects and you can see the changes in real time via preview. If you want, you can adjust the tone and temperature sliders according to your preferences.
6. When you are satisfied with your selection, tap the shutter button and click your picture.
7. Now that you have selected a Photo Style, it will be applied to all images you click here. You can tap the cards icon in the top right to change the style of your iPhone 13 at any time. And that’s it.
How to Set Default Photo Style on iPhone 13
In addition to tapping the card icon in the iPhone 13 Camera app, choose a default Photo Style from Settings. If you want to use one of the defined styles for all your future photos, follow these steps to choose the default:
1. Start Settings application on your iPhone.
2. Scroll down and Camera to access the settings.
3. Under Photo Capturefaucet Photo Styles.
4. Now swipe left and right to choose the style you want to keep as default on your iPhone. Tap on ‘Use’ [Photographic Style]’ and bass Save.
And you’re done! The Photo Style you choose will now remain as default until you change it otherwise. If you want to change it, repeat the above methods.
