Emoji keyboards are getting more and more popular these days. Now that the HTC One M9 is ready and in the hands of many proud owners, you will want to know how to use the emoji keyboard. You don’t need to download a new keyboard or an add-on app from the Play Store, but you will need to know where to find them on the stock keyboard that comes with the phone out of the box.
While there are lots of great third-party keyboards available in the Google Play Store, the HTC One M9 includes a nice HTC keyboard with lots of features. It has HTC trail to swipe to type, and with the M9 and Android 5.0 Lollipop it includes a lot of emoji options, and you’ll want to know where to find them and how to swipe to use them all.
All Emojis on HTC One M9 are similar to most other smartphones and most Android devices, so they will work no matter who you send them to. Emoji are a fun way to send thumbnails that look like a more advanced smiley. You can send emojis from the M9 to another Android phone, an iPhone, and other devices. Most new devices display a variety of emojis, although the actual design may differ slightly from device to device.
With Android 5.0 Lollipop and HTC One M9, you can use the built-in keyboard for emoji fun, which is installed right out of the box. Once you’re on the keyboard, one tap is all it takes and you’re ready, and you can choose from a wide variety of different emojis installed on the phone from the moment you get it.
How to Use Emoji on HTC One M9
While browsing the Play Store, you’ll find many different emoji keyboards or add-on apps that give you more options, but the stock items that come with the One M9 should be more than enough. It includes the usual popular smileys, symbols and much more.
If you’re already using emojis on other new Android devices, you’ll know the basics, but here’s a specific guide for using them on HTC One M9. All you have to do is open the keyboard while sending an email, message, text or using Facebook and you’ll see it almost instantly. On the lower left side of the keyboard is the “” button, which converts the keyboard from letters to numbers and symbols. However, you will see a smiley face, then let go.
That’s it and now you’re on the emoji keyboard and can go crazy with all sorts of fun stuff. The keyboard area is now filled with smiley faces and one swipe will do it all. From here, simply tap on each one; It is added to your message like any letter while typing on the keyboard. Small circle dots indicate how many pages each has. There are seven pages of smiling faces. Then there are other options above these. For dogs, cats, flowers, plants, and food-type objects, there’s a bell filled with random emoji images of flowers, clothes, and the like, and a plane filled with transportation-inspired emoji images.
When you’re done adding all the emojis you want to any message, simply tap the ABC button at the bottom left to return to the keyboard to finish typing a message. That’s nice because you can type a message, add some emoji, and then come back to finish a sentence in seconds without switching the keyboard or doing anything too difficult.
You can even tap the clock-looking icon, which shows you the aggregated list of emoji icons you’ve used recently. This will change over time, but if you always use the same few, this will be an easy way to get to your favourites. Enjoy the new HTC One M9 and have fun with some emoji messages.
