Google has provided a budgeting feature in the Play Store that allows Android users to set the maximum monthly amount they are willing to spend on digital content. This includes apps, games, movies, TV shows, music, ebooks, etc. applies to When you’re close to reaching your budget limit, you’ll see an alert that you’re approaching your limit or exceeding the amount you specified.
This is how you access it:
- Open the Play Store on your Android device, tap your personal icon in the top right and select “Payments & subscriptions”.
- From there, select “Budget and history”.
- You will see the amount you have spent during the current month. Select “Set a budget” and enter the amount you can comfortably spend on your apps, music, movies, TV shows and ebooks for a month. Then press “Save”. Your budget can always be adjusted or removed entirely from this same screen.
As Google stated, does nothing to set a budget, prevent purchases or subscriptions in your Google Play account once you exceed it. This feature is to be an easy reference to keep track of your spending that you can take advantage of; Does not impose drastic restrictions such as Google’s Family Link Could be parental controls. Another thing to know is that you can only set budgets using the currency of the country your Google Play profile is linked to.
