There are many Apple Watch bands to choose from to give your Apple Watch a personalized look, but here’s how to use any watch band you want with your Apple Watch.
Apple has a variety of watch band options, including a silicone Sport Band, a leather watch band, and even some stainless steel link bracelets if you want to give that fine restaurant a chic look tonight. Plus, there are loads of third-party watch straps to choose from.
However, what if you want to use your own watch band? What if you have a watch band that you absolutely love but isn’t compatible with the Apple Watch’s proprietary watch band system? You may think you’re out of luck, but you can actually use any watch strap you want on Apple’s smartwatch with the help of a relatively inexpensive accessory.
of course there is a lot enough watch strap options available Any Apple Watch user can find an Apple Watch band they like, but sometimes you have a preference that Apple or third-party Apple Watch band manufacturers don’t offer, so here’s how to use any watch band you want. Your Apple Watch.
Use Any Watchband with Apple Watch
The secret to using any watch band with your Apple Watch, even if it doesn’t have proprietary connectors, is to use lug adapters, which convert the proprietary connectors to the traditional in-ears you see on any regular watch.
There are many Apple Watch accessory manufacturers that sell shoe adapters for the Apple Watch, but I bought these Luwvitt adapters for $15 at Amazon and they do the job well. They’re also available in different colors to match the color of your Apple Watch case.
These adapters can fit on a 24mm watch strap for the 42mm Apple Watch, but one thing to keep in mind is that the crossbar is thicker than most bars on traditional watches, so the fit may be a little tighter than usual, so if you’re on a traditional watch you are looking for adapters with rods that look more like ears, these $12 adapters can do the trick.
In any case, you can use just about any watch band imaginable, as long as it’s the right size and fits the adapters.
Adapters are so inexpensive that you could technically buy a pair for every watch strap in your collection, but replacing them isn’t too difficult. It really takes a while to do this, as it’s definitely not as easy as putting on an Apple Watch strap.
Keep in mind, though, that some watch bands may not look that great with the Apple Watch. For example, the brown leather strap pictured looks great with a traditional watch I own, but doesn’t quite fit with the Apple Watch as the 22mm strap is a bit too small. Maybe a 24mm strap would look better, but this is something to consider when you want to use a watch strap from a different watch.
In the end, it’s definitely worth taking a look at Apple’s own watch strap options, if you take a closer look at them you might really like it. You can check them out for yourself at any Apple Store and you might be surprised how much you’ll love them.
I thought I wouldn’t like the Leather Loop watch band, but it turns out it’s now my daily driver on my Apple Watch. I used to only have one Sport Band, but after wanting something a little classier I decided to give the Leather Loop a try and it’s been working great so far.
However, if you have a lucky watch band that you wear with your favorite watch, you can use the ear adapters to attach that band with your Apple Watch without any hassle.
