During the last Google I/O, the American giant officially lifted the curtain on Google Photos. A new app that lets you do keep all your photos and videos in the cloud so you can enjoy it on every device. But most of us have lots of photos on Facebook that don’t necessarily have a backup. Fortunately, it’s possible to install everything at once on Google’s new app. Here’s how.

Certainly, You will not recover your Facebook photos in their original quality, they are compressed by the social network. However, if this is the only copy left, it’s still better than nothing. Also, the tool offered in the web version of Facebook allows you to recover all the photos uploaded to your account at once, which is quite remarkable.

Download your Facebook photos
- Launch Facebook web version in your PC browser
- see you on the menu “Settings”
- click “Download a copy of your data from Facebook”
- click button “Create my archive”
- Enter your password to confirm
- Click the “Create my archive” button and then the “OK” button again.
- You will receive an email when your archive is ready
When downloading your archive
- If you haven’t done it yet, go in this link to download and install Google Photos Backup Assistant on your PC
- Click the Google Photos icon in your computer’s status bar, then click “Settings” to open the Assistant.
- Add the “My Photos” folder to the backup folders and then click “OK”.
When your archive is ready.
- Click the link in the email, then you will be redirected to Facebook
- click button “Download Archive”
- Enter your password one last time
- open archive In the “My Photos” folder
- Backup is done automatically
