iOS 9.1 was released earlier today and is by no means a super big update, but it does come with a handful of bug fixes and other improvements across the board. Perhaps the most notable new feature is the 150+ new emojis users can now enjoy, including the middle finger emoji that many iOS users have been waiting for.
This is a nice update for iPhone and iPad users, but the update also fixes Pangu’s iOS 9 jailbreak, forcing jailbreakers to stay away from the latest version of iOS for now until Pangu finds another exploit.
If you’re dealing with iOS 9 jailbreak but want to update to iOS 9.1, you can do it pretty easily. Most jailbreakers don’t even want to touch iOS 9.1 as it will erase their jailbreak. However, we don’t blame you if you really want that middle finger emoji.
Currently, there is not much risk if you want to update to iOS 9.1 and lose your jailbreak, because you can still downgrade to iOS 9.0.2 if you want, because Apple is still signing the old version. However, in a few weeks this will not be the case.
