Prerequisites
Stream your music to your mobile
If the song you want to use as a ringtone is not on your smartphone (it’s quite possible only if you use streaming services and don’t store MP3s on your mobile), the first step is to transfer the MP3 file to the device. . To do this, all you need to do is:
- Connect your smartphone to your PC with a USB cable

Trimming the ringtone
Now let’s move on to the hardest step. While the term “hard” is a bit of an exaggeration in this case, creating ringtones from music titles becomes super easy when you have RingDroid on your mobile!
1. Launch the app to get started. You will then have access to all the sounds available on the device. Scroll down until you find the title you want to use as your ringtone.
2. Once the title is found, click on it to select it. It will then be loaded into the app.
3. You will see two gray cursors on the interface. With them you will be able to choose the beginning and end of the part of the title (usually the chorus!) you want to use as your ringtone. Rest assured, it’s not complicated at all, we get there even with minimal dexterity! Also, the “Play” button lets you know exactly where you are.
4. After determining the beginning and end of your ringtone, click on the “Floppy” icon. save ringtone. You can be sure that the original file will not be cut, as the application will only make one copy.
5. Before confirming, remember to save the segment of the title you cut as music, not ringtone. The application allows you to use the cut title directly as a ringtone, but this method is sometimes ineffective, we prefer to use a file explorer.
Choose new ringtone
1. To start, go to your smartphone’s settings, then select the submenu “Sounds and Notifications”.
2. Once there, click on the partition “Phone ringtone”.
3. Then select the app “File manager” then click the “Only once” button.
4. Go to the folder “Sound”
5. Select the section of the title you trimmed earlier (This is extension ends in .m4a (It will help you not to confuse it with the original file in case you don’t remember to give it a new name). Once the file is selected, you will have your new personalized ringtone.
To assign a ringtone to a specific contact
If you want to assign a custom ringtone to some of your contacts:
1. Go to the app “Persons” select a contact on your phone
2. Click on the top right to bring up the menu
3. Choose option “Set ringtone”
