How to Turn Off Your iPhone Auto-Brightness in iOS 11

Most of us don’t like that the iPhone automatically changes the screen brightness while using it. If you fit into this camp, you’ve probably turned off the iPhone auto-brightness settings many times while using the iPhone. Usually this is in the Display & Brightness settings, but on iOS 11 and iPhone X you won’t find this option there.

Fortunately, you can still turn off auto-brightness on iPhone running iOS 11, you just need to know where to look to make the change. Searching Settings on your iPhone almost helps you find it, but it’s not immediately clear where the setting you need to change is.

Instead of keeping this option in display settings, auto brightness toggle is now in Accessibility settings. You can find many iPhone customization options here, including the ability to add a home button to the iPhone X if you need it.

  1. Open .
  2. Tap on it.
  3. Tap on it.
  4. Tap on it.
  5. Tap Off.

Here is where you can turn off auto-brightness on iPhone with iOS 11.

When you finish this option, auto brightness will be turned off in iOS 11. You can use these settings on iPhone and iPad. After turning it off, you can use the sliders in Control Center to change your brightness.

It’s not clear why Apple is hiding this setting from users, but we don’t expect it to disappear completely in future updates. It’s possible that fewer users want Apple to turn it off, as iOS 11 can cause poor battery life if you leave the screen brightness all high.
