Using iTunes can be annoying to say the least, but if you want an easier way to transfer music to your iPhone on Windows, there is an easy solution.
Most iPhone users have iTunes installed on their Windows machine to sync their iPhone and transfer music to the device as needed, but this isn’t the most user-friendly piece of software out there and good luck getting any kind of file. It’s your iPhone that Apple doesn’t love.
But iTunes isn’t the only option, so if you’re tired of using it, there is a simpler piece of software for Windows that lets you transfer absolutely everything to your iPhone.

It does a simple task and does it well. That said, here’s how to transfer music to your iPhone on Windows without iTunes.
Transfer Music to Your iPhone Using WALTR
The biggest downside to using iTunes to transfer music to your iPhone is the lack of support for different file types. For example, .FLAC music files are coveted by many music enthusiasts as they offer lossless audio quality that is better than most audio file types.
However, iTunes does not support .FLAC files and they must first be converted to Apple’s own lossless file type called .ALAC using some third-party software. This is a pain in the back end to say the least. Like most users, I prefer to transfer my .FLAC file directly to my iPhone without having to convert it. Fortunately, WALTR lets me do this.
However, not only does it seamlessly transfer such files to your iPhone, it also instantly converts them so you can play them in Apple’s own stock apps so you don’t need to download a third-party music player. iPhone only to play your .FLAC music files.
To transfer music to your iPhone using WALTR, first download the app from: go to the developer’s website. After downloading and installing the app, you may find that you need to enter an email address to start your 14-day free trial. This requires you to check your email for the registration code, which you will then enter in the app. From there, you will be able to start your free trial.

After entering your registration code, you can now start using WALTR. As a demonstration, I’ll use an .MP3 file of Taylor Swift’s Free Space and transfer it to my iPhone.
Start by dragging and dropping the file into the WALTR window. Your music will start uploading to your iPhone immediately and you will see the progress progressing on the screen. Once done, the app will say that the files have been uploaded successfully and you can now listen to them on your iPhone.
Now if we go to our device and open the Music app, you will see Taylor Swift’s song sitting there waiting for us to listen!
WALTR also works with video files, it converts any obscure file type to a format that Apple will support in the stock Video app, so if I were to transfer a .MKV video file to my iPhone or iPad using WALTR, it would not only transfer, but would also play smoothly in the Video app. Convert instantly.
Without WALTR, you would have to have another application on your computer to convert your files, and once that was done, you would need to import those files into iTunes and finally transfer them to your iPhone. It’s a nuisance and many users don’t want to deal with it.
That’s why WALTR exists and has become my new favorite app, to say the least. I don’t transfer a lot of files to my iOS devices as I use the cloud for most media, but when I need to transfer movies to my iPad for a plane ride, WALTR makes it incredibly easy.
